View Full Version : Recipe for Soft Mead

For those of us who may not drink alcohol, here is something for your ritual refreshment:
1 quart of spring water
1 cup of honey
1 sliced lemon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Boil together in a non-metallic pot. (Use a cauldron, if it's handy.) While boiling, scrape the rising layer off with a wooden spoon. When no more rises, add the following:
1 pinch of salt
juice of 1/2 lemon

Strain and cool. I prefer to drink it hot for All Hallow's ritual.

while i would so prefer a stronger mead, this would be about right for the kiddies. thanks for sharing. :)
