View Full Version : Um, what am I doing?

This just now dawned on me, I just now realized not everyone does this. I grew up an only child, so I don't always pay full attention to what others do... Anyhow... I got to thinking, and I can't think of anyone else I know who does this...
Okay, when I get a minor injory. Like hit my hip on the doorframe, stub my toe, get a cut, get a crick in my neck or back. You know, minor scrapes and the like....

I'll put my hand over the injury, and it'll start to feel better.

Now, I've done some doozies, like fall through the pool deck while it was being built and onto a wooden beam (uh, let's just say that was one day I was happy I wasn't born male), I've falled off the staircase and took the bannister with me, fallen up and down the stairs, I've falled off my share curbs, and well the list goes on.
Am I weird, or um, what am I doing? I can't believe I just now noticed no one else does it. When others run for the icepack or heating pad, I'll just use my hands. Now granted, I've had to run to the icepack once or twice myself, such as when I gashed, not cut mind you, gashed my foot on the kitchen cabinet. I also broke a foot once, but get this, I broke it over Thanksgiving, and didn't realize it was broken until Christmas... :spinner:

umm i think I do that.. like at night or during work when i have a terrible head ache.. i always try and heal myself.. like concentrate on the pain being sucked out of my body and pushed away.. and it works most of the time or cuts down on the pain.. so nope your not alone.. I do that sometimes.. I also if my fiance is not feeling good I always put MY hand over where it hurts on him and try to heal him..and he always feels better after I do that.. maybe we should look into advancing our power :)

okay good to know I'm not the only one. I've never tried it on anyone else. I was taught to get a band-aid. It's never dawned on me to try it on someone else...

I do it too but call it touch healing.i run my hand over the hurt area and visualize the healing taking place. I do it for myself and family members and my SO most commonly.I think that it comes natural to me because of my empathy. It is something I do without thinking almost.

yeah, I've noticed some empathic? abilities too. I never concentrate on healing. I just take hold of the injury or place my hand on it and try to control my breathing, because I feel like I just ran a race :whatgives:

I do the exact same thing, have done it since I have been a child. I have literally seen wounds close up within hours of the injury after I've done it. This is what got me into reiki in the first place, to look for a clue at what I am doing naturally. I'm not sure if I am as effective on others as I am myself, but I have had cuts to the bone which healed in a day before.

As far as I know, I've never broken a bone. If I have, I didn't notice it and it could have healed by itself.

I've noticed that about some cuts too. I can't heal a gash or anything like that. But I have noticed that on me, no one else. I'll graze my arm against something sharp, and get a slighly puffy very obvious scratch mark. It'll look like I got clawed by a pissed off cat, but 15 to 20 minutes later, it's GONE. Maybe a tiny red line, but that's it.

Stuff like a pin prick or paper cut heal almost instantly for me. I have stepped on a broken bottle before and cut my foot wide open. I healed it and the wound closed by the end of the day. By the next day it was scabbed over. I still do normal first aid stuff on stuff like that... Keeping the wound properly cleaned helps alot. But I know stuff like that doesn't heal that fast normally for other people.

I just now remembered. I was running through my house once, and I sliced that bit of skin between my toes on a portable heater. By the next day, it was about halfway closed up. Probably would have sealed completely by the next day, if I didn't insist on putting hydrogen peroxide on it.

*waves hand* ooooo I can do that. Mostly nosebleeds and headaches that I've tried it on, but still pretty awesome. The climate out here it verra dry and so the nosebleeds are relatively frequent. dern allergies. >>

There's some book called "The Reconnection" that might have something to do with this. I never read it because I didnt like the author's idealism of heaven, but the concept is awesome. He just touches someone and like...they're mostly healed right then. It's kind of intriguing, nonetheless. Got rid of the book cuz momy didnt like the ideas to the point she killed it. So I never read more than that first chapter. but it was cool.

Wait, did you not finish it because you disagreed with the author's views on heaven or because your mom didn't like it?

You know, I never connected the fact that I heal so quickly with my ability to heal others before now. I had a broken arm heal up in a week ,the doctor was baffled by it.He insisted that it was not a fracture but a real break and there was no way possible that it could have healed that fast.

I'm just the opposite with bones. I fractured two metatarsals in my foot (those long bones that connect to your toes), it took FOREVER for them to heal. 3 x-rays later, still not healed. :awwman: I never did get a healed x-ray, I just assume it's healed since then

Does anyone else play "mystery scratch?" Makes me wonder when I fought the rabid cat.

Heheh... seems like you've a natural talent for healing. You also seem to provide yourself with a lot of practice since you're clumsy (I think clumsy is cute, not necessarily bad unless you blow a hole in the wall from tripping over shoelaces!) :falloffch :collapse: _catroll_ :smash: :awilly:

These links should give you some food for thought.

I have had similar things happened sence I learned reiki (Which wasn't long ago). I am able to heal my family members and later on they aren't hurting any more. It is pretty cool sence I am the only one in the family that is able to do that.

Doesn't anyone feel weird afterwards?

15 minutes ago I places my hands on my fathers neck and back because he says it gets very hot under my hands because it relaxes his stiff muscles. Afterwards I notice tha the muscles become more flexible as I do a masage.

But doing the masage I feel all energy flowing into my stomach, I get sweaty, and right now I feel all energy of him in me, in my arms and head etc.

How do I get it out? Isn't it supposed to drain off to some place??

I was taught to disperse the energy into the ground with a blessing, or for a quick way, 'flick' the energy out of your hands while thanking it and then blessing it.

Sounds like you are a natural healer.

I see two options.

1. Because of your ability to heal you are less attentive to your surroundings, fall down and bark your shins a lot because you know you can fix it yourself.

2. You are a klutz. Sorry, there's no easier way to put it. You developed healing abilities as a self-protective mechanism.

Either way, if you can project the ability outward, you got something good there, girl!

I am so happy that there are other people besides me that have this ability naturally. I discovered it several years ago, and I was thinking I was nuts. Then I was impressed by Reiki, and have my first attunement. I am getting ready to get my second attunement pretty shortly. But, I have found the Reiki energy and my energy are subtly different.

Here is something to take note of, however....make certain that you are not using your own life energy to do any major healing work. Make certain that you draw from the universal energy or earth energy or whatever you choose to call it. I made the mistake of trying to do a distance healing without drawing the energy I needed and ended up putting myself in bed for 2-3 days because I used too much of my own life energy. :doh2: So, just be careful and not harm yourself in the process of helping someone else. :hugz:
