What do you think of them? I was one at one time but the military changed that. Since then I have always hated them and now I'm starting to wonder...."How can I be more like you?" Not annoyingly perky just more positive when things are not how youl'd like them to be.

Perky people are put on the earth to remind you that you suck.

And to try and sell you stuff over the phone.

I don't know if I'm perky.....but I'm incredibly optimistic. I always believe that something good is going to happen. Even when I believe in something so strongly, and it doesn't happen....I still believe it will. My husband is a pessimist...altho he says he's a realist. He seems to always believe the worst. What a sad way to go thru life .....At least I'm usually happy because I hold on to hope and faith. If you go thru life waiting for something bad to happen....it usually will. He's lucky he has me along to turn it around with my powerful positive thinking...

not a big fan of perky ppl when they get in my space and try to cheer me up.. just because i wear black doesnt mean i'm depressed and in need of cheering up.. if a person is happy being a perky person then i'm happy for them just as long as i'm not expected to join in in the perking..
(btw when i was growing up perking was a term used for hurling) I bet you all wanted to know that piece of useless information.......................... NOT lol (yes i'm a child of the 80's lol)

It would take drugs or something to get me in a good mood all the time. I have in the past been a perkmeister deceiver as I call them, hiding my feelings and making people think I was happy when I wasn't.

There should have been an option for "I am one". I am a genuinely perky happy person. Most of my workmates want to know what I add to my granola. :yayah:

I do not fake this. It's a choice I make. I have the power to control my own outlook on the world and I prefer to react to the world in a positive manner. I'd say about 95% of the time my outlook is perky. No one can be happy ALL the time.

I remember something my mom told me long ago: the face you present to the world will help to shape their opinion of you, and can affect them profoundly -- be careful with that power.

It is possible to be a realist and still see the good in things ~~ she taught me that.

I'm happy go lucky. I'll be really happy around everyone, and always see the posative side, drove the vicer insane in junior school. There's only one problem though if you're 'always happy' When you crash you do big style. Take me for example So happy, I doubt many people have ever seen me get down...got bullied, smiled, got attacked, smiled, lost family, smiled....but when I did come down I couldn't sleep, eat, talk, I cryed till I couldn't, wouldn't drink to be able to cry again, wouldn't get out of bed.

I don't think anyone should try to be what they're not. If you're not happy go lucky, or perky, or down to earth, or up in the clouds, or daydreamy, or whatever, don't try to be. You're like you are because that's you, same as you look like you do, because that's you.

I am a genuinely happy optimistic person. Even when things are bad and down in my life, I'm optimistic they will get better. I always know that there are positives to a situation, I may just not see them until later.

I wouldn't say that makes me perky though. I'm not overly exuberant and bouncy (although I used to be) - I tend to come across as relaxed and open.

Hating positive people is a sad reaction. One should try to emulate them.

I couldn't really vote, so I'll just tell you how I feel about perky people.

Monday's and any other day before 11:00am I HATE THEM! Any day after 11:00 am, so long as I didn't just get the news that a family member died...they are OK.

hate them.

sorry but I do. This one girl who was in high school with me, ALWAYS smiled. Someone made fun of her once and she started to cry, but she was STILL SMILING. I just don't get it. You don't smile and cry (over something not good) at the same time.

Sometimes I just wonder if some people have ever been sad in their life.

Sometimes I just wonder if some people have ever been sad in their life.

I'm one of those perky people. Yes, I've been sad, very sad. When my mom died, when my son's first girlfriend broke his heart, when I tried so very hard to make an endeavor (and you don't need to know what, just that it was extremely important to me) work and it failed and I felt like a failure.....

But still, I am an optomistic person, one who would rather smile and be the kind of person others would prefer to be around, rather than a grumpy buns with premature frown lines etching my face.

My wrinkles come from laughter and smiles!

Perky people scare the shit out of me. They are seriously scary. Either they're not human or they are insane. I cannot believe how people can stay so darn happy and perky when the world is as it is.

Makes me wonder if life's just decided to be a bitch towards me, only me and me alone.

So... yeah, I'm not too fond of perky people. *shudders*

I consider myself Optimistic, and hopefull, but not Perky..
I guess I am happy because I have a plan now, and goals that I know I can obtain.

yeah I am on meds, but my optimism is not fake.. I have a vision , a plan, and things are falling into place rather well for me. :boquet: :fpipesmok

Actually I would say that I am VERY "optimistic" but personally, I think perky is something different.

It depends. There are different levels of perky. There are the perky people who are just upbeat and happy. I don't mind that. I mean I only wish I could be like that more often. Then there are perky people who are just fake. Finally I've seen perky people who get pushy. Trying to force happiness on you which sometimes just isn't going to happen.

I really wish there was a "somtimes" option. Cause sometimes i like perky people and sometimes I don't.

So being chipper and happy while having a positive outlook or trying to have a positive outlook is a bad thing?

I can understand it may not be who you are but why is this a bad thing. So you want more people to be sad and miserable? I don't. Hell if somebody can truly be happy and try to put a positive spin on everything then more power to 'em. I think thats a hard thing to do so I give them respect.

I'm pretty optimistic a lot of the time, and even bubbly occasionally but I've had bad experiences with some people that come off as a little too perky. Like this one lady I knew who put on a perky front that was overly cheerful and overly nice to people, then turned around and said mean things about them. So I guess what I'm trying to say is I like perky, bubble but genuine people, not fake perky. Unfortunately sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference.

Genuine perky and optimistic people I love and they are wonderful to have in one's life. Keeps me from wallowing in my own self-pity. I respect and admire people who have endured alot of hardship, yet refuse to let life get them down.

Fake perky and optimistic people make me suspicious......but I can usualy spot them. I like to crypticaly mock them until they get nervous and go away.

depends on what mood I'm in. Generally dislike because I am jealous of their happiness.

When it comes to 'fake perky people' I wish to dismember them, especially ones with fake little girl voices.

Not sure I would exactly call myself perky...although about an hour after my wheatgrass juice kicks in, I can be positively HYPED! I do, however, always strive to be easy on the people around me regardless of my mood, genuinely smiling and being polite. You never know what kind of day they're having, and you may be the only one who smiled at them that day.

So okay, friendly yes...perky occasionally. I don't have anything against perky people, however...they're just people trying to find their own brand of happiness, just like the rest of us.

Hate em, but that's just because I'm depressed all the time and I'm jealous at people who are always perky and happy. Godde! Maybe I should just complete the transition to Goth instead of being in the closet. I'm trying to get hired at Hot Topic as an Asst. Manager so I can get away from these people so I stop feeling more depressed about being too depressed to be like them.
