Meridians

Does any one have experience with using the meridian lines? I just want to know the difference between these and acupressure/point and chakaras and such. Just curious and at work. It wouldn't look good if I start to rub the meridian lines at work, ya know...

in acupuncture major energy currents of the body are called meridians. there are 12 major ones and something like 8 minor ones. they correspond with the various organs of the body.

so you have things like the lung meridian, the stomach meridian, kidney meridian, the liver meridian, the heart meridian, blah blah.

since they run in lines through the body, the meridians effect everything in their pathway.

example: (this is going to sound weird) but the sides of my tounge were all swollen and very sore. my acupuncturist said it was because i had done something to irritate my liver.

which is why sometimes in acupuncture, lets say your eye hurts, so the doctor stick a needle in your knee. or whatever.

meridians have no relation to chakras.

chinese medicine also uses a five elemental system, not four. earth, wood, metal, water, and fire.

I should clarify. I wasn't asking what they were. I was thinking more on what kind of energy feel. Such as, working with the chakra's is very distinct. So is the aura and acupressure. I'm just wondering, compaired to them, how does it rate? How does the energy flavor compaired to the others? I'm not sure that makes any sense though. >_< Maybe I'm just tired.

To me, the meridians feel like streams of fire. They are, in my opinion and to my feel, smaller versions of the chakras but they are situated along our bodies (both physical and energetic) like veins or networks. They are energy flows but they are also energy flows connected to the chakras.
