I have a friend who is in a bit of a dilema. He owns a small medicinal herb company. He wants to add a line of magical herbs, but is not familiar with herbs in this sense. I'm hoping you can answer a few questions to help steer him in the right direction.

What are your favorite herbs for magickal purposes? Or what do you consider the most popular magickal herbs? What books, websites, or other resources do you recommend?

I know a little about herbs and I think that most, if not all, have magickal properties, but I thought I'd ask in here in the Green Room since you are considerably more knowledgeable on the subject.

Thanks.

Well if you want a great list of herbs books then go to the books forum and theres a sticky there for recommended herb books....as for herbs themselves i would say that pretty much everyone who is an herb nut like me always has sage, frankincense, myrrh, benzoin (great base for making incense). Tell him to pick up a copy of cunninghams encyclopedia of magickal herbs and that should give him a good reference to pick out his herbs and get him started

Thanks. I didn't realize there was something in the Books forum. And I have Cunningham's too; I think it's quite good.

So, any other "herb nuts" out there? What are your must-have-all-the-time herbs?

oh another one to add is dragons blood, it is a bit expensive but i dont know anyone that doesnt have some as for one its a great smelling incense but its also a general "magick booster" so it works good for lots of things
