tarot under the pillow?

I just got my first tarot deck and I read that when i get the new deck, i should sleep with it under my pillow. the first time i did this, i didn't have any dreams. normally, my dreams are very vivid, etc. so the next nite, i slept w/o it...had a vivd dream. last nite, i put it under my pillow, and again didn't dream. anyone experienced this? should i not put it under my pillow?

i can't sleep with anything under my pillow, i move around to much at night.

Im a tummy sleeper.. so Im hugging my pillow until it cant breathe :lol: So no I cannot put anything under my pillow.. expecially my tarot cards.. they'd be all bent to heck by morning. I got a deck but never put it under my pillow. It's perfectly fine :hehehehe:

I have heard this said so many times over the years and it's really not required. All they are trying to do here really is stress the importance of getting to know your deck and getting the deck to know you. Keep it by your bed by all means it can make interesting reading before you go to bed, but don't feel you must place it under your pillow or you wont get the results. Just keep looking at it card by card learning with it and from it. Make it your best friend if not your bed partner :D

That is a good technique if it works for you. Some people have an affinity for certain cards and thus will be more influenced by a certain card then others. To get used to your new deck you could try looking at the card 5-10 minutes before you go to bed and write down any impressions, feelings, etc that you get when you look at the card. When you wake up if you have any dreams write them down as well. use the technique thats best for you.

i read that it gives you vivid, etc. dreams. i normally have vivid, lucid dreams but when i put it under my pillow, i didn't dream at all. :)
