I'm trying to quit smoking and I was wondering if anyone could give me any suggestions as to a good ritual to help me break the cycle of addiction.

I am not sure if I know of any spells, but generally
when a person "kicks a habbit" you give up something and usually you replace it with something positive,, ergo the classic, eat a life saver when you feel a craveing for a smoke......

I quit smoking August 2001 for my fiance's daughter's birthday. I can tell you in general what I did, but as far as a spell goes... I made it up as I was going and never wrote it down. (I smoked cloves only.)

On the full moon (8/4) I did a fire spell while smoking. I lit a small fire and wrote on paper stuff I don't remember (about cigarettes) and burned it. Immediately afterwords I took a cleansing shower. For the next two weeks I steadily cut back. Then on the new moon, I did a water spell cleansing myself of & putting out the fire of the cigarettes. I have not smoked since.

I had minor cravings for about a week, but nothing I couldn't handle. Replacing it with something only reminded me of the tension I felt. Deep breathing techniques worked best for getting me through cravings. GOOD LUCK!

Hi.

I did a quit smoking spell in August and quit by the next full moon. I actually didn't create it myself, but got it out of Fiona Horne's Witch and modified it to suit me. I can actually type the entire thing in here if you wish, but basically I lit a black candle, wrapped black tape around an old compact mirror that had what I hated about being a smoker written on black paper inside (I wrote with red ink). I wraped the black tape around seven times and then went to the dumpster by my apartment complex and threw it away, like I was throwing away that habit.

My main problen was that I didn't hate anything about smoking. I enjoyed it. The action of it, going outside all the time, stress relief, even the taste. I didn't have any real chest or sinus problems from it. (I actually had more sinus problems recently.) I liked it. I had to do it for someone else. I wasn't going to do it for me. So I finally found someone to quit for and did a spell and actually tried to quit. That was it for me. I needed the reason to quit. I have no desire to go back.

There is always conditioning to a negative stimulus. That can always help break a habit. You could dip the filters of all of your cigs into a very bad tasting (non-toxic) substance and then put them back into the pack. Then every time you go light up, YUCK! Heh heh. Or you could pick up an electronic-ignition lighter and pull the zapper out and keep it in your pocket. Then every time you put a cig in your mouth, zap yourself with it. It certainly won't do any permanent damage, but sooner or later your subconscious mind is going to be conditioned to no longer want that which brings pain.

At least unless you're into causing yourself pain. That's of course a whole different topic though. ;)

and POSITIVE REWARDS which has been known to work wonders........ and hypnosis which has value ...... a "self" spell is a bit like self hypnosis .......
I quit cold turkey .......... but only after ACTIVELY "hating" smoking for a long time ..... telling myself I really hated what it was doing to me .....
one day it was just "lifted from me" like a gift from the Goddess ........
I had done numerous workings for quitting .....
eventually they just "worked"
GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!!! and sending quitting energy

the big problem i have always had with quitting wasn't the first few days. The first fews days are hard, but you expect that and can prepare yourself for it. The real danger comes in a couple of weeks.
See, whenever I tried to quit, there was this voice in the back of my head running like it was on a tape loop
"Hey How about a cigarette. Wouldn't that be great? "
"Man! that was a great meal. Know what would hit the spot right now?"
It's constant. It never lets up. And you always have to answer "NO!!!!!". This is the crux of the biscut. You have to prepare to be strong ALL THE TIME.
It does get better. Sort of. Eventually I stopped hypervenalating (sp?) when I went into a mini mart.
You can do it. you're a warrior. Look at the mirror and growl.

Tabacco, drugs, alcohol, overeating- these are bad habits many would like to overcome within their life.

You will need the following materials:

1. a cloth doll representing th person who is a slave to a particular addiction
2. four white candles
3. two red candles
4. two black candles
5. some graveyard dust*
6. Rising Fame Incense
7. a bottle of Courage Oil
8. a bottle of Health Attracting Oil

In this ritual the black candles will represent the bad habit or addiction one would wish to rid themselves of:NOT to bring harm to another in any way. These two candles are not dressed, but sprinkeld with the graveyard dust.

Light the black candles as you affirm:

Here is represented an addiction of ____(name addiction)____, this bad habit is what ____(name person)____ strongly desires to overcome in his/her life. Already this bad habit grows weaker each day> Nevermore in his/her life to stay.

Light the white candles dressed with courage oil, again affirming:

Spiritual strength is at your side,
a stong faith within you resides. A
conqueror you will be, over this enemy
you see victory.

Light red candles dressed with Health Attraction Oil while affirming:

Further strength is at your side,
as the victor , you'll stand high.
Good health is a sign you'll see,
that you have the victory.

Allow the candles to burn a few moments, then chant the following:

[b][i]Assured victory is yours,
and conquered the enemy you've done
your chore.
For you are now truely free,
from the bad habit that used to be.

See in your mind the person completely free from his/her addiction, then blow out the two black candles. Repeat your chant, then extinguish the rest of the candles in reverse order of lighting them. Repeat this ritual every three days until satisfied. NOTE: since you are working to remove a bad habit from your life or of another's it is best to begin this type of ritual during the waning phase of the moon.
* In Louisiana graveyard dust is dust that has settled inside open tombs which is gathered simply by sweeping the inside of the tomb with a whisk broom.

I found this very helpful on another site
QUIT SMOKING SPELL

BEST TIME:

During the waning moon (the 14 days after the full moon)

YOU WILL NEED:

A pot of dirt

3 clear quartz crystals

A black candle and a candle stand

A candle snuffer

Your half-finished packet of cigarettes (with at least 13 left)

CASTING SPELL:

Stud the dirt with the crystals – they have electromagnetic properties which will magnify the intent of your spell. Carve the bottom of the candle to expose the wick and place it up side down in the stand. Every night before you go to bed, light the candle and by its light slowly push one of the cigarettes into the dirt until it is covered. As you do this say:

I banish you from my life.

My will is strong, free from strife.

My resolve is firm, my courage is great.

No longer do you rule my fate.

The snuff out the candle flame. Don’t blow it out – you would be blowing away all the magick. Do this every night until the pack is empty, then throw the whole lot in the bin and walk away without looking back.
