Merry Meet All,

Not sure why I am posting this but needed to share with others that would understand.

I was a member of another pagan site for the last 4 months and have made many friends there. It is based in the UK and the majority of members are from Great Britian. Since 9/11 there was a real change in the tone of the boards there and several of us no longer go there but have remained email, icq and msn friends.

They were all aware of some personal problems I am currently going through due to unemployment and have been supporting me with candle burnings, spells, rituals and just emailing and messaging me to keep my spirits up. We have also shared organized group rituals on different issues, especially ecological issues which are close to my heart.

Due to my current situation, I checked with my local former catholic connections to try to keep going and only received the cold shoulder. I don't mean to bash them, but these were people who knew me personally yet were unwilling to offer any support because I was now "sinning" by being a Wiccan!!!

Yet, my UK friends, who have only known me online....sent me an email today telling me to go to my local Western Union because they did a fund raiser for me!!! Not asked for nor expected.....consider their magickal support important. Even as I write this, can not find the words to really say what I want to say. I am in awe of the pagan community.

Up to now, I have not been too much out of the broom closet........but from today forward, I proudly declare, I AM WICCAN!!!!!!! I will be buying a pentacle and wearing it proudly!!!

Thank you for sharing that. I find the pagan community, as a whole, is a wonderful closeknit community. Especially this place. I always felt that when someone say they care, they really do...you can feel the positive energies pour in. Big hugs to you, Lady Dragonfire! You have wonderful friends!
