A friend of mine sent me an interesting e-mail today about how she felt out of sorts and separated from everything. She blamed it on the Sun moving from Pisces to Aries.
Can someone shed a little bit of light on this for me? What exactly would that mean?
Thanks!

Well, Mercury is retrograde till april 12th,
with the transition from winter to spring, this will allow for some reconnecting and attunement..
Get out in the sunshine, take a walk out in nature... it will help you keep yourself grounded and gives you a chance to view everything comming to life and waking up from it's wintery slumber.

Could depend on her personal chart and aspects between Aries & Pisces. She might relate better to Pisces energy. In general the Sun moves through the signs and houses of our horoscope, sheding its light on the areas that those signs and houses deal with. Pisces energy is more mellow and reflective, resting up before the new cycle starts or just taking time to relax and play within the imagination for awhile. Then Aries comes along and Spring has officially kicked off and all of a sudden it seems that you're expected to launch into the hustle and bustle of life. For your friend, it's possible that Aries isn't the greatest sign in the world for her, that she likes to take her time and move at her own pace and not feel rushed. Or maybe Aries just falls in a house that deals with unpleasant issues for her. For a very generalized example, say that Aries Sun is falling in her fourth house; she may have to deal with family members that she may see as being somewhat pushy and irritating.
As Xander mentions though, along with the Sun in Aries, Mercury has gone retrograde there. (Now sure if it's technically in Aries right this second.) Mercury retrograde tends to bring on a lot of crossed signals and miscommunication, and some swear it wreaks havoc with their electrical devices, especially computers. :)

I'm a Pisces Sun, but I hate winter and always look forward to the Sun moving into Aries.
A few years ago, I was having quite a stressful time and shared my house with a friend who I'm very fond of, but is a typical Aries. His energy levels are on permanent overdrive, and mine were quite low at the time! One day I woke up, and just couldn't be in the same house as this guy today - so I decided to celebrate the first day of spring by going for a meditative walk on Glastonbury Tor.
So, first I leave the house for the day because I can't cope with the Aries guy living there. I get to the woods at the base of the Tor, and startle a young sheep who runs and knocks me over - yet more Aries energy, literally! Then I sit down in the woods and meditate, and notice all the small saplings starting to grow - spring is here. I'm staring at this one sapling, and realise that its shape is in fact the Aries glyph!
I came to a realisation then. The first two Aries incidents (not being able to cope with my friend, and the ram knocking me over) were quite "jarring" (can't really think of the right word - not "aggressive", but certainly feeling like vigorous Aries energy rather than dreamy Pisces energy). I was still in winter mode, where everything is quiet and run-down - and on the first day of spring I was confronted with three Aries symbols! It was the Universe/Goddess telling me that it was OK to come out of hibernation now, and enjoy the full-on Aries energy.
I need that reminder sometimes - I have a lot in Aquarius and Pisces, and nothing at all in Aries, so its energy tends to hit me quite dramatically. It's a good thing - but to us sensitive Pisceans, it can feel a bit like someone yanking the duvet off while you're asleep and yelling "Wake up - it's time to PARTY!" :D

Wow, thanks for all the information, guys! I knew Mercury was going retrograde, but I haven't been able to put my fingers on ANY of my calendars to see if it already happened, or if it was this weekend. Thanks for the head's up. Sort of explains where the energies are right now.
As for the rest... wow, stuff to think about :)
