I would say wear the pentacle on the inside of your shirt, Silent. It's a simple solution.

If you insist on wearing it on the outside of your clothes, just turn a blind eye to the comments made by your school mates. You know whats true and what isn't. They just fear what they don't understand. By making comments like they are, they're displaying low confidence.

Those who make those comments, have some issues to work on themselves. Just remember when all is said and done you'll be stronger and better than before. And they'll have to live with themselves for being prejudice.

Whatever does happen however, they will reap what they sow. Remember that.

Tell them you researched your beliefs and ask if they did the same or if they are just parroting back what someone told them. Ask if they believe everything they hear if worse comes to worse. I would start with trying to educate them first.

This happend to me.
Tell them its a 'star'
story- I was mindlessly doodling on my sheet of paper during one of Mr. Macartney's extreamly boring social classes. I was drawing a pentacle, abd this freek named 'craig' sitting next to me asked 'Whats that?' I simply replied star. he said 'No!, Your a witch! The old lady on 'Chuckeys Bride' had that on her.' I jusht shook my head and said ok. but then he asked if I could turn alex into a frog.... so, well, thats what I did, didnt really work though...

I'll stop blabering now and let you go on and read some better advice....

i know this has nothing to do with your post, but what sita said reminded me of it

If you wear your pentacle to school you're inviting ignorant comments. Yeah it sucks but that's the way it is. Try to tell people the truth about it if you like, but know there will always be someone who insists you're wrong, period. There's nothing you can do to change these people, and if you really feel too harassed about it the best idea might be to wear it under your shirt. This isn't hiding your beliefs, it's refusing to let people who are too close minded to respect your beliefs bug you.

You've gotta be prepared for negative comments when you're expressing anything other people don't understand. I agree with others; wear it inside your shirt.

i know what ur going thru ... i got the same thing when istarted uni cos i have a pentacle tatooed on my shoulder but people are more open-minded at uni ... there will always be poeple that judge and call u wrong ... remember by the power of 3 x 3 what u do comes bac to thee... if they confront u about it then all i can say is educate them if u can and if they are really stubborn tell them that because you are able to accept other peoples religions as well as ur own then ur faith is obviously stronger ... that ought to shut them up ... trust me !! (if u want to lol)

I got the same B.S. when I wore mine to school. Mostly comments asking if I was Satanist. If you want to avoid it, the best idea is to wear it under your shirt. Or if someone starts making rude comments just turn the other way, they are not worth your time anyways.

By far, the smartest advice I've seen in this thread is that you should simply wear your pentagram under your shirt. Even after many years of wearing one, I almost always wear mine under my clothing. For the past year I've had a small gold one that I wear, it's discreet and I don't always mind or notice if it shows, and if anyone ever asks me what it is I simply tell them it's a celtic knot (because technically, it is). Always remember, too, that a good answer to the satanist accusation is that an upside down pentagram is a perversion of the pentagram, just as an upside down crucifix is a perversion of the same kind. Truth to tell, I've never had to defend my pentagram and I'm really sorry you've faced that kind of questioning.

Ugh...high school DOES suck, doesn't it? Well, I go through the same thing pretty much everyday. Me and my necklace have seen a lot of ignorant, "funny" comments from assholes. But mostly people have asked curious questions and want to know about being a witch. I just let them know that it isn't "bad" and I answer their questions. I think I've been really lucky in that I haven't gotten a lot of crap for being fairly openly pagan. I used to love to flaunt it...but that was me just being young and trying to be different. I've calmed down...just keep either ignoring it or take the opportunity to educate a few uninformed people. ;) Either way, have fun and be proud.

*Chuckle* I find it funny that they ridicule you for believing a book when the majority of their religion is based on one. *Chuckle once more*

I turn my head in a 360 degree angle and say YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID! :D:D:D:D

No really, If someone confronts me about it, and call me satanist I would laugh and say "Say what you will, but since there is no research behind your close-minded opinions then I would appreciate you not making such a pointless accusation, or I will be forced to report you to the prinicipal or the local authorities for discrimination."
