I hope everyone felt this was a good beginning to Imagery Healing. If you want to be adventuresome and do more exercises, please let me know in your homework post and I can add some to the lesson!

I really didn't want to be the first to post, cause I'm not really sure what it is you are asking for, but I'll give it shot, and share what I have so far.

I have had a stomach virus for a few days now, so this was my primary focus. I really wanted to focus on my chronic back pain, but I couldn't get past this virus, so I decided to just go with it. The first thing I did was try to get a good solid image of the 3 symbols discussed in the lesson: the circle, trine, & star. I actually saw it in a different order, repeatedly, and no matter how I tried to see it in the order given, I just couldn't. I visualized the circle: it was glowing white, changing to glowing orange, and moving forward & backward in my field of vision. Then, inside the circle, I saw the star connecting with the circle (like the pentacle): it's colors were interchanging with glowing blue and orange. Then, inside the center of the star, came the trine: glowing orange and blue at the same time, connecting with the star. What I mean by connecting is that all of the symbols were touching, to become one unit, one force. I'm not sure what is meant by the colors, other than orange is predominant and that they are the colors of a flame. Possibly the intensity/heat of the healing power that lies within the symbols and the mind. The blue, although it is also a color in flame, could also represent the cooling of the heat of the virus.?.

Next, I visualized the interior of my GI tract. I only saw liquid color, orange, turning to yellow, and moving down through my system. Colors possibly mean the heat of the virus being cooled over time by the visualization of healing.?.

This is as far as I have been able to get. I have tried this several times since last night, but cannot get beyond this point. However, I have noticed that each time I visualize, the color inside my GI tract is turning more yellow and less orange. I don't really know what this means, other than possibly the virus is being cooled(killed) and slowing down, or that I am just witnessing it run its course, but I do know that today is the first day I have begun to feel really like doing anything other than sitting or laying around. (It's so funny that I have this. I really think I did it to myself, because Monday night I had decided I was going to call in Friday, and I made the comment I was going to have to start practicing sounding "sick", so I would sound more authentic when I called in. :uhhhhh: The mind is a very powerful thing!!)

Well I tried to visualise the symbols but was unable to naturally & so didn't want to force it, as you said to try and see what happens as it comes. I started to visualise warmth entering my body starting from my legs. This I had no problems with. Then I moved up into my stomach where I had pains. I started to see my hands laying over my stomach giving myself reiki. I stayed in this area for a few minutes. As I did so I saw a male figure staring down into a pond. I went over to him and stood quietly beside him. As I continued with the healing imagery I received a bunch of flowers. At first I was unsure what to do with them, then I realised they were a gift from the man i'd been stood next to. I thanked him and he walked away. After this my mind started to drift as though I was dreaming. I tried to get it back on track, but couldn't, so decided to end the session. I felt very calm & peaceful afterwards. I enjoyed this approach to meditation and shall continue through the week. One thing that struck me was before I began I'd been suffering with heartburn, yet during the medi it disappeared. It was only after when I felt it slightly that I realised.

Since my focus in this class will be trying to project this to others I decided I may as well give it a shot right off, so this is my experience...

I envisioned the star symbol first, saw it come over my head and move slowly down to my feet as it collected energy and then progressed back to a place just above my field of vision. Once there I saw it slowly project from me down my hallway creating a tunnel as it went to my children's room where it became the triangle and each point reached one of my children (I have three girls so this worked well in my simplistic head, three girls with runny noses that is).

Once the points touched each of my girls I began to focus on sending the energies out through the 'star shaped tunnel' into the triangle. At this point my head felt quite warm and my third eye was tensing so I knew I was pushing too hard.

I relaxed and assumed I would have to start again, but the link created wasn't broken so I continued on and could see the colors shift in the triangle some. My oldest daughter woke, walked into my room and told me she was hot, could I turn down the heat. Which completely broke my concentration and sent me into giggle fits as it was a whole 72 degrees in the house and she had no fever.

So... not sure if I sent the healing energies to my girls that I wished to, but I did manage to warm the hallway and their room a bit.

Any input or suggestions on how I can better work on this would be greatly appreciated.

Friday I cut my finger with a pocket knife - the blade accidently closed over my finger because I was holding it the wrong way... it's not a terribly deep cut, but it has hurt pretty good if I bumped it... I felt like there may have been a slight infection due to the puffiness around the cut, and I know the blade would not have been clean. All I did was put it under cold running water afterwards... I didn't have any band-aids or anything I could put on it...

But... I just did the visualization exercise... and what I saw was a dark red color... I closed my eyes and saw the cut and then went deeper... under the skin to see what was there... it did feel like there was some infection there and the deep dark red color bothered me... so, I put a trine pyramid over the sight, encasing it and visualized blue water flowing... and the infection getting rinsed out... and then visualized the puffiness going down and the cut slowly fading to but a tiny scar... and it's amazing... the cut doesn't hurt as much when I touch it now..

I just took another look at it, and didn't see the deep red color anymore... this time I encased it in a white sphere and imagined kind of like white linen bandages being buffed over and around the cut, kind of like cleaning it and dressing it... and then through the finger underneath, almost like healing the tissues and nerves... again, it felt better to touch it...

I then placed a yellow star over it, as celestial healing... kind of like a protective layer of healing over it.

A very interesting exercise. =) It almost reminds me of something I used to remember being referred to as "psychic surgery"...

I think you did an excellent job of visualizing. Seeing the flu within yourself and having it move forward down away from you and out is awesome! I think it's great that you feel better too.

As far as colors, I can refer to this listing of meaning in regards to charkas:

Your Chakras
Your chakras are invisible energy wheels that spin inside of you, and also above you. They can become off balance due to illness, emotional or mental trauma, through feelings such as fear, anger, sadness, etc. There are 7 chakras that have always been recognized in the past, but there are two extra ones, which will also be discussed here. Please note, also, that there are many more chakras on their way, "waiting in the wings" to be activated. They will be, as humans, through love, continue to raise the level of their vibrations.

These chakras, their colors, their locations in our bodies, and their special "gifts", (when they are functioning properly), are as follows:

First Chakra (root)
Color - Red
Location - Base of spine (tailbone)
Corresponds to - Spine, the kidneys, adrenal glands
Gift - How you use your instincts to survive
Second Chakra (sacral)
Color - Orange
Location - 3 or 4 inches below your navel
Corresponds to - Reproductive organs, the ovaries, prostate and testes
Gift - How you use your creativity and sexuality
Third Chakra (solar plexus)
Color - Yellow
Location - Stomach area, above the navel
Corresponds to - Digestive system and the pancreas (producer of insulin)
Gift - Your use of power, how you use your acquired knowledge
Fourth Chakra (heart)
Color - Green
Location - Center of chest
Corresponds to - Heart and lungs
Gift - The "love" center, how you give & receive love
Ananda-khanda centre (new) - the higher heart
Color - Turquoise
Location - Upper chest between throat and heart
Corresponds to - Thymus gland
Gift - Your expression of loving communication to the masses
Fifth Chakra (throat)
Color - Sky blue
Location - Throat
Corresponds to - Entire throat and neck area
Gift - Your ability to express your thoughts and feelings in words
Sixth Chakra (third eye)
Color - Indigo
Location - Between the eyebrows
Corresponds to - The face, all sense organs in the head, and the pituitary gland
Gift - Your ability to use your intuition
Seventh Chakra (crown)
Color - Violet
Location - Top of head
Corresponds to - The brain and the pineal gland
Gift - Your feeling and experience of unity with everything
Eighth Chakra (outside the body)
Color - Magenta
Location - Over the head, outside of the body
Corresponds to - Your connection with your soul
Gift - Your awareness and practice of the divine love within everything

Hopefully this helps you feel more comfortable about what you're experiencing. I think you've done an excellent job!

Nice expericne! You let your imagination go and see what would happen and it helped calm you down and ease your heartburn. How did the tummy pains do?

If you don't see the symbols, that's fine. I'm trying to give people something that can be physically seen.

I think everyone is different and is going to feel more comfortable doing something that comes naturally....then forcing something that does not.

Good job!

Well, I tried this in the shower yesterday because my knees were paining me, an old affliction. So I tried to imagine the inside of my knee, the bones and patella and everything, and I kept imagining my knee cap as glowing a royal blue, strengthening it and erasing any pain or tension from that area...then I sent some energy down and sort of "wrapped" it, like I would with an ace bandage. Then I tried to imagine the symbols over my knee, but they just weren't working for me, so I just used the energy and imagery. After going to work and standing on my feet all day, my knees didn't hurt as they usually do! However, lol, I didn't think grand enough and my lower back then took all the pressure and ached when I went home :hrmm: So today, I will try to work with my back AND knees, and try to remember my posture throughout the day.

Ok Yesterday when I came home from work,my left foot was killing me.I changed clothes and lit some lavender insense and a blue candle.I layed down and stared at the flames of the candle.I closed my eyes after a while and visualized the blue flames dancing around my foot.working their way inside the top of my foot and going down to the part that was hurt.Seeing them take the swelling out and putting tissues and realigning the bones back in place then floating out of my foot back to the candle. I could literally see the bones being realigned back into place during this meditative state.(It was awesome)When I had finished my foot was pain free and I was able to take a nap.
This is something mundaine but was my most recent experience.

Okay here is my effort.

i did the practice meditation first with the orange. I did pretty well with that...at the point of pretending to take a bite...my mouth actually watered...

My first goal was to focus on my neck...I had a stiff neck this morning when I woke up...but I also had some heartburn that was more annoying then my neck...so I decided to try and solve that discomfort.

I concentrated on the pain I was feeling and I tried to picture the acid in my stomach..and I pictured it very much like a lava flow that was rising...I then focused on my GI tract..I imagined an ice blue liquid light energy flowing down my throat...I actually felt a coldness as I imagined it.....I had it douse the lava and I focused on the acid in my stomach dissipating...

My heartburn was gone after this meditation.

I then turned my attention to my neck. I immagined a warm red heat enveloping my neck and shoulder area...I pictured my muscles relaxing and stretching....after awhile the pain was less and by the time I sat up it was gone...

I was not able to focus on a symbol...mostly I felt the need to immagine colors and conentrating on hot and cold...I really liked this excercise...

I love how you used the symbolism to help your cut start the healing process!

Being able to start with the small is awesome, reaped big rewards in my eyes.

These are excellent examples. :)

Ah, yes. Protecting in one area will mean more work for others. Good job on the imagery though! I love the bandage idea. Awesome :)

That's an awesome example of imagery healing. I love how you made the colors from the candles and flame be the healing source :)

I think it's good that you concentrated on one thing at a time. I'm also excited you had positive results!

Some people cannot do the symbolic imagery. I can't either. I'd have to practice it for a while in order to do it.

I put that out there for those that may have problems with visualization in general :)

That's so cool that your daughter could feel the temp rising!

I wonder about their colds now :)

Here's my attempt.

First off, it's raining here. About a year and a half ago, I was mowing the lawn down a hill (stupid) slipped, and my feet went under the mower. I didn't fully detatch anything, but my left big toe was shattered, almost cut off, the ligament was completely severed (i can't fully bend it anymore) and bloody. very bloody. Now it hurts in inclement weather.

So, I visualized pale green circles encasing it, forming a tube that slowly sank beneath the skin into the shards of bone and and ligament, infusing it with the colour of jade. It felt much better afterwards. Didn't hurt at all until I stubbed it later.

After that, I visualized my back. For as long as I can remember, I have had this deep pain between my shoulderblades. It doesn't throb or ache really, it's just there, like a pressure. I don't know why it's there, and I tried to smooth it away-I visualized encasing the pain in a circle, and then diffusing white light into it, smoothing over the muscles and knotted cells. It felt better for a minite, then came back worse. I tried some more, but it just intensified. I've had it so long that I can ignore it very well, it's become background noise, like a washing machine. You know it's there, but you don't really notice it.

Finally, I tried to help my throat. I've got a bit of a cold, and have been coughing which is making my throat rather irritated. I visualized swallowing a star.point of light (yes, i had to swallow) and then holding it in my throat (it's a very weird feeling. you try stopping mid-swallow) until it dissipated like a lozenge into the flesh.. I did this twice. I haven't coughed since, not does my throat hurt any more.

Awesome first attempts. I am concerned about your back issue though. You don't know where it derives from? I'm wondering if with this, you may have to dig deeper into why or where it started then work from there. I don't know how easy that's going to be.

Excellent job on your throat and toe though! :)

I hope it's ok to have student input, also. I just think we are all doing so well with this. It is so neat that everyone is having such excellent results! The experiences I am reading are just incredible!! _handclapp

Also, BrigidMoon, I was wondering if you have heard anything from Kalika yet. The last we heard from her, she was re-writing her lessons, but that's been some time back, now. Hope things are ok for her. :(

I think it's great to have an open forum and share ideas, experiences and concepts with each other!

Sadly enough, I have not heard from Kalika. I hope we hear from her soon!

I think it is wonderful that we have been blessed with 2 teachers .Thanks for starting things up until Kalika can get back online. This is not how you 2 probably visualized the class beginning ,but sometimes things happen for a reason. Maybe there is a chance for growth and confidence taking place. May Kalika get back online soon and be able to restore things from her PC. BB,

Exactly. Kalika was supposed to be the teacher to begin the classes. But it turned out that I am.

Thank you very much for the compliment! :)

No clue. It's been there for as long as I can remember. I've tried different mattresses, sleeping positions, stretching, massage. Everything but a chiropractor and an acupuncturist.

I've gotten used to it though. I know it is thre, but it doesn't bother me, at least not often. It's just a little nagging on the edge of my mind, unless I really concentrate on it.

I tried to visualize under the skin in the area, but couldn't. I had no trouble with my toe, but I couldn't 'see' into my back. It's right between the shoulder blades. It's very contained, never spreads or lances out. It's an area that is generally like a circle, three or four inches in diameter.

I wish I knew what it stemmed from, but I'm absolutely clueless.

um, well i did the exercise the visulization of things and people i find very hard to sustain, but i can keep images and shapes for longer.

So i saw the greengrocers and went inside. i could see no oranges all i could see was lemons, i hate lemons, i picked up a lemon and began slicing it with the knife i had seen on the side. I picked up a slice and tasted it, i could taste the bitterness and sourness.

But then the green grocer then turned up yelling something about how i didnt pay for it and grabbed the knife off me and stabbed me on my left side under my ribcage.

I am annoyed at this, everytime i try to visulize something weird happens. Like when i did a Goddess meditation i kept summersulting! Its weird and i hate it has anyone got any advice?

Anyway after being brutally stabbed, i became aware of a slight phsical pain in the same place i was stabbed, i remember having this pain a couple of nights ago, hurt everytime i breathed in.

So i visulized light blue light bathing the ache. Then i put the trine thing over it and a circle around it. The pain became very muffled like it was still there but the shapes and light were blocking it. The trine became grey when it touched the pain, and slowly became light blue again. As it did so the pain was gone and the area the ache was in felt immaculate.

I think the latter were good results, but i'm just annoyed that my subconscious wanted me to be stabbed, its so stupid. I can control things like dreams, im a really lucid dreamer but i cant seem to sort out visulizations without something silly happening.

It was amazing healing experience, good results in the end shame i had to be stabbed first!

Awesome yet interesting quest. I have been looking around for some kind of site that would have a remedy for the self inflicting visualization. I will keep looking. Hopefully I can come up with something :)

I'm glad that there was a successful outcome! :)

um, well i did the exercise the visulization of things and people i find very hard to sustain, but i can keep images and shapes for longer.

That's so cool that your daughter could feel the temp rising!

I wonder about their colds now :)

No colds, my one daughter still has a little runny nose but she always does, so I'm not surprised. :) I am so loving this class!

You said you recalled the pain after you had the visulization of being stabbed. Perhaps this is just how your subconscious works with your conscious, instead of fighting it why not work with it? Work on decoding the symbols to get to the root of what your mind is trying to convey to you.

Alot of time within my dreams there are symbols that I don't pick up as important until later, I also am a very lucid dreamer. Could be if you were able to accept this as part of the internal communication you possess you may find it transfers into psychic dreams and you can get more out of them as well, not to mention communication from guides and others.

Ok. Here's my try.

I have trouble with pain in my legs and feet because I walk around on concrete floors all night. When I come home in the mornings I fill my bath with hot water and eucalyptus salts and soak for a little while. I imagine white and blue light covering my body then I push the light and the pain, physically (with my hands),down my legs and out through my toes. When I get out of the bath and get into my bed,my legs and toes are completely refreshed and the pain is gone so that I can go to sleep. :abanana:

I am having the worst time visualizing. I have been trying the orange visualization now since you first posted it, but no use. I can't seem to keep my mind on one thing. I try to see myself walking into the grocery store and going to the produce aisle. It is not working for me. http://img90.exs.cx/img90/2365/k1ocray.gif

So I am also trying to work on the pain I have in my back and the numbness I have in my extremities, but always come to a brick wall. Maybe I am just an airhead and am trying too hard. I will keep working on it and keep you posted. Thanks for doing this class.

Ack!! I can't meditate to save my life.

I tried the orange exercise and relaxed,. cleared my mind, and saw the store. I saw the fruit and I even saw the knife. Then I tried to pick an orange up and my mind rebelled, telling me that there really wasn't anything there and that's when mundanity crashed back again. I tried this several times and had no problem seeing things but, when I tried to interact with them, I couldn't.

So, I decided to leave that for a while. I went to the store, the real store, to give myself a break and, when I got back home, I decided to try the healing exercise.

I laid down on the bed, curtains closed and light off, and cleared my mind. Again I was able to visualize shapes. I saw colours, I saw a triangle (a trine), I saw a a circle, I saw a star ... I could see any shape I wanted, make them whatever colour I wanted, and put them anywhere I felt like putting them but ... that's where things went pear-shaped again. I could not see ME, or my aches and pains. Everytime I tried to look inside myself it was a blank.

I don't know. If I hadn't failed the orange exercize I would have said it was because I have no idea what the inside of me looks like but I just can't seem to do anything that requires meditative interaction.

On the up side, however, I did feel relaxed afterwards, so it wasn't a total failure.

Maybe I am not cut out for meditation?

What if you concentrated on the pain --- and felt how deep it goes and see if you get another area to come up with either tenseness or pain?

I have a site here that has some "cures" for common meditation problems.

Here it is:

http://www.meditationdoctor.org/cures/index.html

At what point are you becoming stumped?

Are you fully relaxed?

Are you going into this stressed or fear you cannot do it?

Just some questions.....

You are NOT an airhead!

:hearthear

I love teaching this class :)

I don't necessarily see my body either when I am thinking of the pain on the part of my body. What I do see is the color and feel around in my head where it is located. For example, for a headache....I can feel the pain...I don't visualize myself massaging my head or even put symbols there for that matter...but I am cognitively aware of the pain and where it is and I try to breath into it and tell it to go away and breath very slowly...seeing the black color in my head fading away.

I know that sounds odd but I am giving myself commands in my mind, like "drop your shoulders", "head tension, relax" -- things like that. I'm not visualizing much of anything except using my mind's eye to locate it and make it leave. The power of my meditation is knowing I can make it go away...and seeing the color disappear.

Not sure if this helps or not.

I have also have this link to help with meditation problems: http://www.meditationdoctor.org/cures/index.html

Ok so here is my try.

Last night before I went to sleep I lay on my bed and relaxed myself. I have done other visualizing healling before (just imagining a bright golden light filling my body and focusing on specific parts) but I had never done it like this before. I started out by concentrating on different parts of my body looking for any pain. At first I couldn't find anything to work on (yesterday I was really comfortable all day and happy as a bunny) but eventually I did find a small pain in my knee that didn't go away just by shifting.

I didn't know what it was from so I just went in and took a look. I found two small metalic shard things. I decided to have one of my dragon protectors (two little dragons that seem to be a mix between a Wyrm and a Chinese Dragon that fly around me and protect me [more visualisation :) ]), um where was I? oh yeah, I decided to have one of them come and pull the shards out. It came and grasped one (by biting it) and pulled it as hard as it could, and slowly the shard was pulled out. As soon as it came out the pain was much less. The dragon bit it and it cracked and lost its power. Then the dragon pulled out the other one in the same manner. Again, once it was out the pain dissappeared.

I looked a little more but there wasn't anything else so I decided to sleep. And sleep I did.

BTW sorry if it is long and rambling.

My Assignment

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I started out by relaxing and then focusing inward on my body. The first thing I noticed was that the backs of my legs ached, and I wasn't even paying attention to it. I realized that I would have to fix the source of the problem before I could continue. I was sitting at my desk with my chair too high because of the new computer. So I raised the chair, and placed a box under my feet no more ache. So went back to visualizing. I always start with my heart area, cuz I know that there are potential problems there. I worked with slowing the heart rate, and relaxing the area around this. I thing went to the lower back, which seemed to be aching. I visualized this relaxing while I beathed into the ache. This always works well for stress, exercise kind of aches. I focus on increased blood flow to the extremities, as they say that this is a possible are of poor circulation.

That kind of was the end of that. I do this at my desk, as this is where I have access. I did start the meditation with focusing on the trine first. I might use the pics of the medicine Buddha next time.

I liked this.

By the way there is a Chakra Thread here: http://www.mysticwicks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=107

This has a couple of guided imagery meditations that are not healing, but help to balance the chakras.

Thanks for this info. Love the class so far. Keep up the excellent work.

What if you decided to instead of the orange use something else.....?
Um, a beer? Something that you like and drink/eat often?

Would this make the task easier?

For example, go to the place you eat every night and eat something off your dinner plate?
Visualize a burger?
:)

Sounds silly BUT it just might work!

When I took drama in middle school the teacher was big on meditation and exercises and breathing -- I think I got a lot experience about visualizing from that.

I'm hoping that I am helping with the examples and suggestions!

You are being extremely helpful :hugz:

I am really good at 'imagining' things. I mean, if I'm reading a book, I can 'see' what is happening so, hopefully, I will be able to get my head around the meditation without too much of a problem. I just have to go that one step further to interact with my 'imagination' :)

Okay, here goes.

I had an enormous stomachache/headache combo last night (weird, because I never get headaches), so bad that I hunched over when I walked. I went to the nurse's office (I was in school, even more conveniently:blech:) and laid down. So, I visualized the circle white and giving of bright light. I floated it onto my stomache, the more intense of the pains, and imagined it "cooling" the pain and then swooping around my tummy like a net, picking up a black smoke/gas (the pain/illness). After this, I imagined the star coming into my belly and undoing the cramp-like pains by unraveling "knots" in my intestines/tummy/reproductive organs. This sequence worked really well. When visualizing the knots, I went left to right, and with each knot that came undone, I felt a tingly relief in that spot. While not totally gone, the pain had decreased significantly.

Then I went to my head, which was more of a pressure feeling than pain. I used the idea of BreatheRight strips, which pull gently on the nostril passages to open the airways. I imagined a sort of backwards vise/suction thing on my head, pulling my skull away from my brain to relieve the throbbing. At one point I think I imagined the trine (more like a pyramid) on my head separating. Then I used a sort of rinsing visualization to "clean" away the pain and leftover pressure. This didn't work nearly as well, but it wasn't a total failure. I'll build from there.

I'm really enjoying this class so far! We've all gotten off to a good start.

*sigh* Attempt two at the 'orange' variant was as much a failiure as attempt one. This time I did what you suggested, BrigidMoon, and visualised a bowl of chili in my own kitchen. Just as with the orange yesterday I was able to 'walk' into the kitchen and 'see' and 'smell' the chili. That was great. But!! Once again I was unable to interact with the vision.

So, I had a break and tried the healing exercise again.

The triangle, the circle, the star, all were there, right in front of me -- one at a time and, even, all three together. I had them all different colours in an attempt to help me focus on moving them towards me. I would have been happy just to get them to move but they wouldn't. Once I tried to do anything physical my mind rebelled again and told me that I couldn't move what wasn't there. So!! I changed tack and decided that, if I couldn't move the shapes, I would try to move the light that they shone with. THAT worked. I was able to expand the light (I guess as light isn't physical my mind must have thought that moving it was fine LOL). Anyway, I let the light shine on me and that was great. It was as if I was bathed in the glow and it was very relaxing. I experimented with different kinds of light and found that the white light was neutral, neither warm, nor cool. The red lights (red, orange, yellow, etc) were varying stages of warmth ... red being the warmest and yellow the coolest, yet still warm. Then white which was, as I said, neutral. Then the blues, ranging from almost purple which was cool, to a very light blue which was cold. My body actually felt those heat differences which is a step forwards, I guess. But I couldn't get it to 'absorb' them yet.

Still, I am pleased with that result and shall continue to practice :)

The use of the symbols is awesome! I think that these symbols have really helped out a few folks with the healing in particular...adding these to your visualization makes it more potent I think...don't you?

Those types of visualizations are a good start. Sometimes we need a source for our healing although we're really doing the healing....you know?

for the assignment i decided to concentrate on my sinuses because i've had a sinus infection the past 3 weeks. usually when i do any sort of visualization like this i see myself in a forest.. just relaxing i think. anyways i saw myself lying in the grass next to a tree with a white glow a round me. i tried using the symbols, and for whatever reason i felt most in-tune with the star.. so that's what i went with. i saw it just simply hovering over my nose giving off a warm glow. so i just kind of laid there and relaxed for a bit. after i was done i went to bed. i didn't really notice anything the next day, but today i'm not sniffing as much. either way i felt it was a positive experience :spinner:

for the assignment i decided to concentrate on my sinuses because i've had a sinus infection the past 3 weeks. usually when i do any sort of visualization like this i see myself in a forest.. just relaxing i think. anyways i saw myself lying in the grass next to a tree with a white glow a round me. i tried using the symbols, and for whatever reason i felt most in-tune with the star.. so that's what i went with. i saw it just simply hovering over my nose giving off a warm glow. so i just kind of laid there and relaxed for a bit. after i was done i went to bed. i didn't really notice anything the next day, but today i'm not sniffing as much. either way i felt it was a positive experience :spinner:

Okay, I do visualization all the time, so I was very comfortable with this assignment.

The orange was easy for me. I could feel it, I could taste it, I could smell it. I used to start out with a shiney red apple... so moving to an orange was just as easy.

As for the healing - I concentrated on the pulled muscle in my back. I imagined a white light flowing down, and onto my back. The white light entered my back, and into my muscles. It collected the pain, the inflamation, and slowly turned gray with all the energy. I think pulled it out.. and let it flow into the ground, letting the earth absorb the pain. I back felt a bit hot, but it wasn't hurting nearly as much.

Ok heres my go.

Excercise one I did enjoy. I was making myself hungry. I have done this for a while. Im allergic to chocolate so I something visualize eating it. It helps keep me from actually making myself ill by eating it. I was fine with the texture but I had trouble with the smells. I couldn't quite get the hang of that one. I think my imagery needs to be more detailed. I also have trouble thinking too much to detail and not seeing the wider picture. Like I can see the fruit but then Im not making out the surroundings of the shop.

Excercise 2, well I was thinking of my day.Thinking about how I need to think more positive, so I thought of the situations I was in and how I could see these as unnegative, I assured myself these weren't my fault. I have confindence and need to shoe it more. Well when I was doing this the thoughts stressed me and my relaxed state became tense. So I worked with my stomach chankra, sorry dont know the name. I first saw the posisitve side to the situtation, then any stress I saw as a black cloud flowing out of my stomach, This was then dissolved into the air. I left this flow till I felt more relaxed and that all the dark mass had disappeared from my body. When I breathed in I saw positve white light come in and when I breathed out dark negative energy out. I then sealed my chankra and imagined the cloud disappearing into the air not being able to retreat into me.

There you are!
Excellent first try. I like how you used white light as the color of love to help heal...and the changing of the color, sort of absorbing the pain out making it gray is very cool. For some odd reason my color turns a black or brown. :)

I think this is a great way to get your innner thoughts in balance and wanting to heal certain areas that are kind of "stuck" or going into a negative place!

I wonder if you used this before a test or a big meeting or something like that, how this would change the outcome? :)

Mainly I use positive mantras. Connected with the healing. Like today I was much more confident on my driving. I was thinking I can do this , I am a good driver and my instructor commented on how Id improved.

I'm sorry this is so late. I have been having trouble with finding the time and energy to do these exercises. However, I did give them a shot.

Exercise 1: I was able to do this exercise step by step. I could smell the fresh orange, I could hear the orange peel pull away from the flesh, and could feel the juice drip down my fingers and hands as I sectioned the orange. I then tasted the juice in my mouth and allowed it sit in my mouth. As I swallowed I could feel the orange bits nurture my body and provide energy to my system.

Exercise 2: I injured my right foot and it has been giving me some horrible pains. Therefore I focused all of my energy and directed it towards the top of my foot, where the injury is. I visualized an amber orb of energy pulsating over the point where the pain is located. The glow's vibrancy was the healing energy. I then visualized another orb, a translucent one that would take also hover over the injured area. I then thought of the pain and sent the negative energy from my foot into the translucent orb until it turned black. I then focused to send that negative energy away from my body, while allowing the glowing orb to radiate up my leg to protect the rest of my body. My foot feels much better.

Sorry this is late... but here is my go at the exercises. :)

Exercise 1: I am very comfortable with visualizing things... as I do most of my workings using this method. I was able to see the orange, peel it, see the droplets of juice fly away from the sections as I pulled them apart... and taste it. My mouth is watering now thinking about it :)

Exercise 2: The other night at about 11:30 I was putting a load of laundry in and somehow slammed my left hand against the lid of the washer. I could feel instantly that i had hurt it and knew there would be swelling and bruising come morning. So later when I went to bed I closed my eyes and visualized a white light filtering down through my body starting at my crown and making its way to my feet. After a few moments of being energized with all this lovely white light I focused my energy on my hand. It was definitly swollen, and the skin was already turning a bit darker in areas. I "saw" the light move through the area... seperating the darkness "clumps" and soothing the area. I watched the darkness flow away with the energy as I released it and filled those spots that had been dark with light. My hand became tingly and it stopped throbbing.

Today while there is a slight lump where I hit my hand, most of the swelling and bruising is gone. It never did turn the violent shades my bruises normally get... although it is still a bit tender.

Exercise 1: This proved very fruitful (lol, sorry I couldn't resist). Seriously though I could visualise easily and I could clearly see, smell and taste the fruit. When I took each step I felt my feet jerk a little in reaction and when I moved to pick up the fruit my hand jerked forward and clenched a little as I held the fruit. When I bit into the orange I felt some juice on my chin. It was very relaxing and sensuous.

Exercise 2: I did this assignment on my bed as I find it more comfortable to perform breathing techniques while lying down. I lit candles on my candelabra. I had trouble focussing on my breathing to begin with, I kept losing concentration, then I realised that I had my hair in a pony tail while laying down and that felt restricting to me. I released my hair from the ponytail and continued.

I firstly visualised, while breathing deeply, that I was inhaling nutrients and exhaling toxins. I felt as though my entire body was immersed in a warm liquid. I later reflected that this was my imagery of the womb, a place that my mind sees as safe and secure.
I visualised myself lying down, as though I were looking down upon myself. I felt pain in my head and neck caused by work related stress from earlier in the day.
I saw crimson lines like little rivers flowing and pulsing from my temples, eye sockets, ears and base of my neck, all of these tiny rivers connected to a large crimson pulsating orb at the base of my skull.
I visualised soft hands penetrating my flesh (painlessly) and smoothing and soothing the tiny crimson rivers that all led to the orb. As I focussed on this I felt the rivers’ pulse quieting and felt some physical relief from those areas.
I then focussed on the rapidly throbbing crimson orb at the base of my skull. I could see a small flicker of light deep within the orb. I could see the flicker of light as though it was a flame on the wick of a candle, and the crimson orb surrounding it was like the wax of a candle.
With this image I visualised the tiny flame growing and warming the orb like the flame on a candle does to the wax.
At this point I realised that I could smell the candles that I had previously lighted and it enhanced the sensation, making it all the more real.
The little tongues of the flame licked and massaged the ‘wax’ of the orb from the inside out until after time the orb seemed more like it was filled with a fluid that a solid, and it ceased throbbing rapidly.

When I was finished with the visualisation I felt that the pain from my temples, eyes, ears and the base of my neck had dissipated and the pain at the base of my skull had lessened considerably. My neck, shoulders and back felt relieved of all tension.
However some pain was still felt at the base of my skull so I later had a long bath, drank a lot of water and massaged it with my thumbs, so the pain was almost completely gone.

Overall this was a great experience for me. I feel that I have learned a lot already

Here's my trys.

I did the orange visualization sort of. Every single time I got relaxed enough and tried to visualize the orange I ended up drifting off to sleep no matter what position I was in or where I was. I did a little better on the healing one though.

first I couldn't remember anything specific I had problems with. So I closed my eyes and sort of looked through my body for anything that was wrong. I started off getting pain in my right temple where I usually get migraines and also in my stomach. I decided to concentrate on the stomach first cause that is more of a problem for me. I was able tp see a really muddy browish red color in the bottom of my stomach and everything in knots. Stress usually makes me very sick to my stomach and there has been a lot of that lately. so first I visualized the knots being worked out and smooothed over. Then I visualized a glowing white circle, then the start added to it like a pentacle. The white light over flowed from the symbol and kept getting stronger and got rid of the yuck color. My stomach has been feeling better since (so far). the next thing was I went back to my head and for wahtever reason it was a dark green muddy color. I added some white to it and it became a bright green color and the pain went away again. I'm not sure why I had the green color there. My headaches are normally an algeric reaction to some types of incences.

Awesome! That's excellent use of imagery healing and on your first try!

There are a few others that have stopped bruising or inflammation by using the imagery healing.

It's exciting to see such awesome results!

Using the candles to help enhance the mood is an excellent idea!

Music, candles - anything that helps relaxing and opening up that part of you to see how to find the pain and get rid of it.

I'm glad you are learning a lot. I learned a lot from your description! :)

The green is a very natural color of course and is seen as a healing color as well. Also growth too, maybe adding it to the white helps increase the healing? Not sure but I'm glad it was sucessful!

I have trouble with visualization.I am working on it,but find it diffucult to quite my mind long enough to proceed very far with it.I'm hoping with more practice and the exercises you've given us to eventually get the hang of it.Although I don't think I'll ever be able to call myself a master at it I would like to be able to hold a picture more than the 5-10 seconds I can presently accomplish.

Well keep practising..Try a song, listen to the song...a few times and get caught up in the song..then try recalling the music and words back after about 10 minutes of not hearing the song...
