My favorite scary movie is a hard one I would have to say it's whatever one I'm enjoying with my kids at the time. My daughters favorite is Rumplestiltskin. My eldest his favorite is Halloween H2O. My other 2 don't have favorites.

Yeah, me too! lol ;) It comes on....I shut the TV off! lol

After I watched "IT" when I was a kid....I would go near the street drain things.....or any other drain for that matter! lol

I had VERY LITTLE exposure to horror movies as a kid. Seems like the first one I watched was Friday the 13th at a friend's house....I woke up for almost 2 weeks straight with nightmares....that was at the age of 13. lol

I'm with you guys! Friday the 13th (the first 2) and Nightmare on Elm Street scared the CR** out of me! And Hellraiser! *shiver* Unfortuneately, Hellraiser is Eschallet's favorite movies EVER. He's got Hellraiser posters EVERYWHERE in his house. And models. Like 5 of them, that he painted himself. Man, I would freak out the first few times I slept there. Wake up every morning & see Pinhead. *shivers again* Not fun.

I do have a lighter moment about Freddy Krugar though. Wanna hear it? Tough, I'm telling it anyway.

When I was 16, my friend Jodi for her Sweet 16, had a sleep over. We rented movies, all scary except for Pink Floyd the wall. That was for me & my friend Lael, we were the cool girls then! So, we watch the movies. Lael & I stay up watch the wall (sober & for the very first time I might add). The next morning, all the girls (except for me & Lael) were talking about the nightmares they had. My friend Dani had one in particular. She's always been sweet & light hearted, innocent. That sort of thing. She tells us that she had a bad dream. It was about a bunny and it had FREDDY KRUGAR CLAWS!!! From then on, all we talked about was the Freddy Krugar bunny! I still joke w/her about it now. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Okay, MAYBE it wasn't that funny. :D I still laugh about it though!

My favorite one is the one that I started to write.....
it started out as an idea for an episode of Buffy...

only the real nightmare began when someone pointed something out to me, then I realised it was a meaphore of my autobiography.........and now that would explain why it is takeing so long to write.:(

I would have to cast my vote in with "IT" (the book rocks as well) and the Nightmare on Elm Street series.

Nothing scarier than a man who can come into your dreams or a clown who can come into your life.....The moral of the movies however is clear....Ya gotta have friends :p

In the mouth of Madness was pretty weird.

Ack! Child's Play is just plain creepy.... although the Bride of Chucky was pretty lame.

When I was younger I watched a Vampire movie with my parents... except I didn't see the end, and thats when my fear of vampires started....

This guy feeds a body to a box of vampire souls. They "wake up" and I think this guy controls them more or less, but I'm not sure. In the end the vampires are sitting in a circle in a room, and they have to figure out how to kill all the vampires without waking them up... does anyone know what movie I'm talking about???

I didn't think that the Exorcist was too scary, just the subliminal bit with the face that flashed up really freaked me out. I think it's because I don't believe in the Devil, really.....

my favorite B flick horror movie is Blood Diner...funniest damn thing I have ever seen!!! As far as big hollywood production type things would be Stigmata...
in the Friday the 13th Series my favorite is still the 6th installment when Jason smashes the face of some victim through the side of a mobile home....classic stuff there!!!

The Excorsist, Salems Lot (the little boy/vampire scratching on the window totally creeps me out)...and when I was young, this movie about Jack the Ripper called "Bridge Across Time" really freaked me out. They move the London Bridge to America, and a legend says that when they put the last brick in, Jack the Ripper will appear. Well..he does, and wreaks havock. That freaked me out. I love "Sleepy Hollow" (even the old cartoon version)...and until the part at the end, where the "monster" is revealed to be a spider, Stephen Kings "IT". LOL.

Favorite horror....Hellraiser, either of the first 2. Then they went downhill, quick. Poltergeist too, and the Amityville Horror.
Saw the Dunwich Horror the other night, can't decide if it was cool or cheesy. Liked it either way.

My mother's a horror movie freak... we have all the freddy krugar and puppet master movies--some of which I havn't seen sice I was little--...... I for one like ALL the horror movies... except maybe the "I know hat you did last summer" few and the Screams.... I hate those movies... I love Vamp flicks... ALL of them... I havnt been able to see one of the first ones, Nosferatu, yet... though there was a recent vamp flick made about it that was good. Actually there are a few good vamp flicks that have been released recently.... of course, i've seen all of them... But my fav would have to be Interview with a vampire... though the book is so much better... then again, I am a major Anne Rice fan... her newest novel is pretty good, though she has had better... the chucky movies were okay... i love the Halloween movies and Friday the 13th... heh, its funny to see the same looking girls running in their underwear from a "scary" killer....

I like 'em all!

I've seen most of those movies...to tell the truth, "scary" movies don't really scare me. And, I've never gotten a bad dream from a movie. Alien was pretty cool...
Killer Klowns From Outer Space was so raunchy....bleh...but it did crack me up. Freddy, Jason, Halloween, Poltergeist, Exorcist....I like them all for their entertainment value. And, even if I squeal a bit when watching a scary movie (I didn't scream while watching Scream), it doesn't stay with me for 5 minutes after the movie is over.
When I was a kid though, the Preditor scared me for some reason....
As far as the Amittieville Horrors....I lived my whole childhood less than 15 minutes from the house. My brother and his friends used to drive up there every Halloween and dare eachother to go in. As I hear it, they all did go in one year. They told of some spooky weird s*** that happened too.

Generally the stuff that really scares me in a movie is like that yucky graphic violence....rape scenes and the like. Things that I find genuinely disturbing.

Twilight Garden

Scary movies don't really scare me either. I blame it on the fact that my mom had me watching horror before I was out of diapers. Both my parents LOVED horror. The only movie that ever scared me when I was little (and I wasn't even that little) was the 1st Friday the 13th. Just the part where he gets stabbed from under the bunk bed. I had bunk beds and couldn't sleep in the bottom bunk that night.

PS: Does anyone know what the Childs Play movie is rated? My fiance got upset when about a year ago his daughter was at a slumber party where they watched it. I didn't think it was that bad. The little girl thought nothing of the movie. But I can see where a parent could get upset. Just curious.

Shy Hawk

It's most likely rated "R". Most of those movies are.

If there was a "bad" scene I was told to cover my eyes. I once remember the action of closing my eyes and plugging my ears, but can't remember the movie. Oh well. I think I'm rambling now. This is a difficult question to answer... I love horrormovies and has seen quite a few.

I absolutely LOVE Evil Dead and Army Of Darkness.
Dario Argento´s films are very good too. Especially "Trauma".

But the absolutely best (worst??) horrormovie I´ve ever seen has to be "Ring" by Hideo Nakata. It´s the first movie ever that really has disturbed me. After I saw the movie I couldn´t stay in dark rooms or go to sleep. There is a "Ring 2" too, but I refuse to see it.

"and until the part at the end, where the "monster" is revealed to be a spider, Stephen Kings "IT". LOL."

I loved that movie until I read the book. The movie doesn't even faze me now... but the book scares the hell out of me. The ending was lame as hell in the movie.. but in the book it was amazing.

Most Stephen King books scare me, but the movies are lame. I love how he writes.. he gets into your mind, and makes your imagination run away with you. :)

"The Others" scared the hell of me... I actually screamed in the theater, it was amazing. :)

The movie I used to love when I was like 14 was a movie called the House on Haunted Hill.. it was the scariest thing in the world to me LOL.... now I look back and I realize it was the cheesiest movie in the world! LOL

I'm probably showing my age, but I saw "The Blob" as a little kid and it scared me. For years afterwards I would make sure I didn't leave anything out on the floor in case I woke up in the middle of the night and thought it was the blob coming to get me.

I also really liked to be scared by "Them" and "The Thing" (the original with James Arness as the Thing).
