How exactly did you get your forum to be so popular? With so many users and so many posts?

I've had my forum open for a long time, and it's always been like pulling teath to attract people, and then to get them to post....

So what's your secret?

Well, you have to remember that this forum...is...the site. And, this place is very important to me. I put in a LOT of time here.

I dont think I have a real secret. Its this Community itself that makes it popular. The People. All of us.

of all the boards that i have belonged to in the past this is the only one that i have really ever posted to and spent SO much time at :)

Believe me I've looked at a few. I'd about given up on finding a good pagan site, when lo and behold, some guy named mol invited me to check out his community. And what a community it is! :) I don't really have to say it, but it is people that make a difference and here you will find the best. Whenever I sign on here I'm among friends...and so are you. :D

It's very true that the members on the board have become, to me, like family. Believe me when I say it. I'd looked almost everywhere that I could think of, then, just like a sign, I am lead here.

I don't think I would have been able to survive much more of the crap other sites were representing and saying. Some didn't even want to answer simple questions. Questions that when asked here, one can get answers and other information that they hadn't even thought about yet.

Mainly, no one shuns you for beginning and not knowing. No one asks what you are. And everyone is here there for you when you need it the most. I now they were there for me.

This family, is life. :)

I have for many years avoided such sites and boards, but find that there are people here who understand that paganism or and on#ther cultures have to be weird or way out.

Its amazing how much we have grown...and I dont want to get on my old soapbox about how much this place means to me...so I wont.

How I found Mysticwicks...
It's funny how you find what you need. I was surfing around witchvox, looking for some graphic sites when I found Aboutwicca.com. I wrote to Eaglewolf and told complimented him on his site, and then put a link to his page on my page. After a week of visiting Aboutwicca, I found the link to Mysticwicks, and joined right away! This was when mysticwicks had under 100 members, and less than a month ago. Now I pretty much live here. It is my home page at work, and I visit it a lot at home as well. I think that it is the people who are here who make this such a great place. If everyone here were judgemental, and belittled each other, I don't think that it would have anywhere as many members as it does. I want to thank everyone on the staff for doing such a great job, and thank you to all of the members who make this such a wonderful place!

I honestly can't remember how I got here. But I remember seeing the posts and how friendly everyone is. This is the 1st MB that I've contributed so much to.

I recently joined annother one about 3 wks ago. They were so negative and jumped on each other & aired their dirty laundry. I never posted or intro-ed myself.It is a local one and many of the people left it and the org because it was so bad. They finally decided it couldn't exist as is and shut it down for a few days while they consider how to open it again.

I think this one succeeds because 1) Mol participates so much and encourages us to post 2) he started it with a positive, inclusive vision 3) He found like minded people to help support it.The previous one was also an email list which made for alot of confusion.

It will keep succeeding as long as this varied tribe makes a concerted effort to support one another, post positively and does not allow those who might be divisive succeed.

Have to add my bit to this one. I was lucky enough to be invited to join recently by Mol (boy, do you get around!), and have found everyone to be just great. Tolerant, non-judgemental and so willing to give and receive knowlege, newbees and sages alike.

I've trawled through many sites, and not been tempted to join any of them as I was put off by the back biting and bitchiness and talk about ego's - phew!

Still, they say like attracts like, so we must all be great

I will get round to the other areas, but at the moment I'm finding too much to interest my here!

I found out about mysticwicks from Kaylara through another board. I came here and haven't looked back! At one point I felt like I was spending too much time at the computer... but it's time well spent that I would use to sit in front of a television anyhow!
Being a solitary, I enjoy the interaction with other pagans that I have here with all you wonderful people! You guys are great! And I get wonderful input, too. And also, to reiterate, everyone is so open.

I too was invited by MOL and say thanks for it being here daily. Only here can you get such a variety of questions asked and answered. And it all happens quickly. And the humor at times keeps me LOL. Everyone has been very nice.

Plus those midnite computor lessons where else can you get them!! I Thank MOL for being so understanding but I warned him that I wasn't good with this thingy!!

I got this e-mail one day from mol and he invited me out of the blue after he had come across me on another site. I really think this is a great community. We don't always agree and sometimes even strongly disagree, but that is what brings in the family element. We always seem to respect each other's opinion even if we DON"T agree with it, and we are able to laugh at ourselves.

Tis true, this is a fab place, and I'd ask the same question if it hadn't already been done. I've worked very hard on my own site, and am everpresent at my own forum, but hardly anyone ever posts except myself and one or two others who I have to coax in... like pulling teeth. Exactly like pulling teeth!

I just wish people would post, even if it's only once, it would encourage others to join in too. *sigh* Ne'ermind, not much I can do about it really. Sorry to have winged at you all, it's been bothering me a lot and I needed to get it out.
