Can you get a reiki attunement over the net?
Would that work as well as actually being with a teacher, i mean how would the attunement actually work?
I am beginning to think this may be the only way i will be able to be attuned, firstly because of lack of money and because there are no classes near me.
I really would pay but at the moment we are in debt and i can't save anything near the amount i need, not that i'm tight about paying.
But i want to know, can it be done and how would i know i had been attuned?

A Reiki Master is able to give attunements at a distance. Reiki II is an attunement for distance healing abilities. I have never gotten a attunement online, but I am sure it would work, as I have done Reiki readings for online friends. You would know by the way your energy shifted and how you felt afterwards, just like in person. I don't think an an online attunement would be any different than one given in person, I just prefer to do it face-to-face. My concern would be getting an anttunement but no instructions about how to use Reiki for your benefit or the benefit of others. Make sure than an online attunement also comes with some instruction on Reiki methods, symbols and their use, and hands on techniques.

It's also quite possible to find Reiki Masters who will do attunements for free. That's how I got all of mine!

Yep , got my 1st 2nd and Master attunements for free, but went to Reiki 1 and 2 and paid for instruction, sometimes getting the attunement means needing further understanding of techniques, feelings, intuition...for some the knowledge is innate.

I truly see no way that sort of intimate association can be done effectively over the internet. My reiki master echoes this feeling.
Even if you can't offer a cash payment, you can make or do something for them. And, if that sort of arrangement cannot be made, perhaps this is not the time for you to receive your attunement.

I have recieved attunements both over the net & in person and have given them both ways. My experience has been that there is very little, if Any difference. I recieved my first attunements via long distance and through study became quite proficient. When I decided to have in person attunements it felt no different and nothing changed i.e. I wasn't "lacking" anything by having distant attunements that in person ones made up for.
This is an issue that many feel deeply about, especially those who don't agree w/distant attunements. My advice is to go with what you feel is right for you and make up your own mind.

I've never tried to do an attunement over the net, so I have no personal experience to speak to here. But I would assume if you can send the energy of a healing long-distance, there there is absolutley no reason why an attunement can't be done the same way. IMHO.

I got my Reiki attunement at my church but now the person who gave me the attunement isn't there and I have been waiting more than a year for my second one. I was 12 or 13 years old when I got it and I am 15 now.

Of course you can get attuned over the net. There is no difference between that and sending out long distance healing...I do think that some people need to have a one on one connection ...but, that is most likely a learning method...I know people who cannot take online courses..they need to be in a class with hands on teaching...so it is up to the person what they prefer...but..there is no difference in attunements in person or over the net.

I agree with most of the views that an initiation or attunement can easily be given over distance. I don't care for this method because there are so many out there that will take your money and not give you anything for it. When I teach I prefer to meet the person at least once in order to see that they are indeed interested and not just looking for a certificate to hang on the wall. It is also to show that I am a real person and not just there to take money. Also, I prefer to give a clearing or other type of healing to a person before taking them on as a student. That way they have some idea as to how the energy feels and will hopefully get rid of any issues before hand.

some years back we used to have a reiki chat on a german chat client. when i first came into the chat, i all of a sudden felt the good atmosphere.
one day, i remember as if it was today, i saw rainbows. LITERALLY
flying around my monitor and myself
the energy was seeable, feelable and very real
we would be pouring energy into the virtual room and the more we gave the more we received.
