I hope her money grubbin husband is happy :wah:
Her money grubbing husband who was offered 10 MILLION DOLLARS to simply walk away from the case and refused? The one who spent SEVEN YEARS looking for a cure for his wife before finally being convinced it was hopeless?

Farewell, Terri. Godspeed.
Thanks for saying that Ben, I feel really bad for ALL of her loved ones, who have been demonized by one side or another during this whole ugly ordeal....I know absolutely KNOW what my husband would want in this situation, and personally, NO matter what any other family member said, I would fight to fulfill his wishes even to the point of receiving death threats if necessary. I think both her husband and her parents BELIEVED that they were doing what she wanted and we will never know what SHE really wanted, I hope her next/further existence is a much more peaceful one.

May your body be free to run, and laugh and play where ever your journey now takes you.
Lord and Lady, bless Terri on her new journey, guide her and hold her close.
Please bring peace and calm to those left behind. Help them in the next hours, days, weeks and years ahead.
May they find solace in your warmth and love and may they find comfort in your embrace.

My karma has peaked, so it is time for me to burn some of it off. Here goes.
I'm sick of people using this vegetable for their own political gain. The media feeds on this story like leeches, because nothing else newsworthy is happening at the moment. They're vultures, these reporters and politicians, and I for one am glad that Terri died. Not because I care about her or her family, but because I'm sick of hearing about her. Tom DeLay buried himself under this issue like it was some kind of bunker, as if this would sheild him from his ethical shortcomings. All this "Culture of Life" crap is a smokescreen, trying to divert you from noticing that the republicans are laughing all the way to the bank while the world burns, if you'll excuse my mixed metaphors. But now that she's gone thank god, we've only got one more round of lawsuits (wrongful death and some civil suits), two at the most, to endure before this whole affair goes away and the news stations scramble for some other crap to ram to saturate my life with. Show me Michael Jackson again showing up to court in his pajamas and mask, that was kind of funny. This poor woman was a victim of her own stupidity, what with her throwing up until it 99% killed her. Someone in this thread said she was beautiful. Well, she nearly killed herself to make herself look that way. Sometimes during this whole affair I wished I was a doctor there in florida so I could help her shuffle off her mortal coil with my bare hands, just so the both of us could have a minute of peace!

You know I was agreeing and even understanding your point. Until I read this tripe. You truly did want to shave off karma. At first I thought you were joking but oh no, you were dead serious. You purposley said this too piss of people. Well I'm sure your little plan will work. I would indulge you but I see through your sick little game. WOW...harsh words...I won't send you any negative karma because you are entitled to the way you feel..hey even I was getting tired of hearing about it but to actually say she was stupid because she had an eating disorder??? That my friend is a disease a problem that is very VERY difficult to overcome...she was beautiful...you can't take that away from her..sick or not. I think you could have conveyed your oppinion in a much softer way..you didn't need to be so cold about it..

This poor woman was a victim of her own stupidity, what with her throwing up until it 99% killed her. Someone in this thread said she was beautiful. Well, she nearly killed herself to make herself look that way. Sometimes during this whole affair I wished I was a doctor there in florida so I could help her shuffle off her mortal coil with my bare hands, just so the both of us could have a minute of peace!I agree pretty much with the comments about the media and the poticians, but I have a problem with the "stupidity" comment. Some people do have a disorder having to do with body image, and others have an eating disorder. These are medical disorders, not stupidity. Enough of that.
8 years ago I watched my grandmother make the decision that she wasn't going to struggle against her cancer any longer (after a 10 year nightmare of treatments and failing health). At some point the body stops wanting food or water, following which there is a slow and peaceful drifting further away from life and the world.
I watched the same process 6 years ago with my mother. She had been sick for a couple of years but no one had been able to locate the cancer that spread throughout her body until it reached her brain and paralyzed one side of her face. She could tell that it was too late for current medical treatment to heal her and she also choose to drift away.
Family members disagreed about the choice she made, and my father could have made a case for her mental state and asked for her to be kept alive, but he respected her choice. It's nothing like the dramatic tv shows with a last-minute rally and a few special words for the loved one at the bedside. With both Gramma and Mom I could tell about 48 hours before the actual death that the spirit had already left. The autonomic body systems were still going, but eventually without the spirit and the brain to lead them, they shut down. We were still turning the body every few hours for comfort, but I could tell it wasn't important anymore.
May the spirit of Terri find her way to it's resting place from this journey.
May her family and friends find peace and comfort, and acceptance.

Well, consider Terri's thoughts on the matter. The whole *problem* that caused this whole mess was that she could not keep any food down in the first place. That was the cause of her heart attack. So, doesn't it logically follow that the person who refused nourishment while she was active in life would not want nourishment forced upon her shell of a body later in life?

Well in my defense my post was supposed to be in the other thread before somebody merged them. So I blame Ben T!!!! Besides, if you want to have a sacred space to memorialize the dead where nobody else can reply or post stuff you don't like, we already have a forum for that, it's the Altar of the Ancients I think.

I agree somewhat about it is good she is gone ... but more so for me cuz her suffering is at an end .... not to get the media frenzy over with .... I do however strongly disagree that she was stupid .... she was ill and fell victim to her illness ... some pick drinking or drugs.. Terri had her eating disorder... I do however think she lacked responsibility for not having a living will or any will for that matter as it has seemed to be stated ... As soon as I bought my home I took that step and got both a living will and a regular will for such events that my wishes will be carried out by my family .... not my family wishes will be carried out for my life cuz they think that is what I want or they just want me around ... I have left very detailed instructions on what to do in certain cases ... it is filed in my home and with my law office ... what I find really sad is we treat our animals and our criminals better and more humanely in their time of need we do not make them suffer ... Terri should not had to die without her dignity by starving to death ..... She simply should have been aloud to sleep with her angels :hugz:

Had to comment on this one. All of my beliefs about the case aside, I pray that Terri has the peace and happiness now that she couldn't have in this life. I envision her running free, beautiful as ever, shining down on all who love her.
Terri passed away the same day we were due to leave RI, and my whole day was pretty much clouded because of it. Due to other reasons, <coughdamnuhaulcough> we didn't officially get on the road until Friday. My mind was on her the entire day though, and my heart was with her family.
Shine on, Terri. Your light shall never fade.
