i like:
"i wanna wreck my town and live up in the trees" (dumdums song line) and "only love kills the demon" (woody harrolson natural born killers) because everyone thinks the best way to get back at those that dont like them is to return that dislike but only loving them will bring about change.

Some quotes from my Successories pics I've got hanging on the wall in my office:

RISK (pic of a beautiful saling ship): A ship in the harbor is safe...but that's not what ships were made for.

INTEGRITY: Wisdom is knowing what path to take next; integrity is taking it.

BELIEVE & SUCCEED: Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day sayng "I will try again tomorrow".

ESSENCE OF IMAGINATION (pic of iceberg): What we can easily see is only a small percentage of what is possible. Imagination is having the vision to see what is just below the surface; to picture that which is essential, but invisible to the eye.

INNOVATION: The best way to predict the future is to create it.

FOCUS: If you chase two rabbits, both will escape.

"When the pupil is ready, the teacher will be found waiting," says an
eastern maxim. The masters do not have to hunt up recruits in special
-shire lodges, nor drill them through mystical non-commissioned
officers: time and space are no barriers between them and the aspirant;
where thought can pass they can come.

It should never be forgotten that Occultism is concerned with the inner man, who must be
strengthened and freed from the dominion of the physical body and its surroundings, which
must become his servants.
Hence the first and chief necessity of chelaship is a spirit of absolute unselfishness and
devotion to Truth; then follow self-knowledge and self-mastery. These are all-important; while
outward observance of fixed rules of life is a matter of secondary moment.

Work as those work who are ambitious. Respect life
as those do who desire it.
Be happy as those are who live for happiness.

Friends and foes! Criticism is the sole salvation from intellectual stagnation. It is the
beneficent goad which stimulates to life and action - hence to healthy changes - the heavy
ruminants called Routine and Prejudice, in private as in social life. Adverse opinions are
like conflicting winds which brush from the quiet surface of a lake the green scum that tends
to settle upon still waters. If every clear stream of independent thought, which runs through
the field of life outside the old grooves traced by Public Opinion, had to be arrested and to
come to a standstill, the results would prove very sad. The streams would no longer feed the
common pond called Society, and its waters would become still more stagnant than they are.
Result: it is the most orthodox "authorities" of the social pond who would be the first to get
sucked down still deeper into its ooze and slime.

The true philosopher, the student of the Esoteric
Wisdom, entirely loses sight of personalities,
dogmatic beliefs and special religions.

Our greatest trouble is to teach
pupils not to be befooled by
appearances.

hah!!! here it is:

Gibreel saw a man behind his closed eyes: not Faiz, but another poet, well past his heyday, a decrepit sort of fellow.-Yes, that was his name: Baal. What was he doing here? What did he have to say for himself?-Because he was certainly trying to say something; his speech, thick and slurry, made understanding difficult……Any new idea Mahound, is asked two questions. The first is asked when it is weak: WHAT KIND OF IDEA ARE YOU? Are you the kind that compromises, does deals, accommodates itself to society, aims to find a niche, to survive; or are you the cussed, bloody minded, ramrod backed type of damnfool notion that would rather break than sway in the breeze?—The kind that will almost certainly, ninety nine times out of a hundred, be smashed to bits; but, the hundredth time, will change the world?
‘What’s the second question?’ Gibreel asked aloud.
Answer the first one first.

Inspirational Quotes

Ancient Chinese proverb

If we do not change our direction, we are likely to end up where we are headed.

The greatest force in the human body is the natural drive of the body to heal itself - but
that force is not independent of the belief system, which can translate expectations into
physiological change. Nothing is more wondrous about the fifteen billion neurons in the
human brain than their ability to convert thoughts, hopes, ideas, and attitudes into
chemical substances. Everything begins, therefore, with belief. What we believe is the
most powerful option of all.

The Symptoms of Inner Peace
Author Unknown

A tendency to think and act deliberately, rather than from fears based on past
experiences.
An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment.
A loss of interest in judging others.
A loss of interest in judging self.
A loss of interest in conflict.
A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others.
A loss of ability to worry.
Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation.
Contented feelings of connectedness with others and nature.
Frequent attacks of smiling through the heart.
Increasing susceptibility to kindness offered, and the uncontrollable urge to reciprocate.
An increasing tendency to allow things to unfold, rather than resisting and manipulating.

Our Deepest Fear
By Marianne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?"
Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure
around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us;
it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do
the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Albert Einstein

It is the commonest of mistakes to consider that the limit of our power of perception is
also the limit of all there is to perceive.

C.W. Leadbeateri
A Human Being is a Part of the Whole

A human being is part of the whole called by us a universe - a part limited in time and
space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and his feelings, as something separate
from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.
This delusion is a kind of prison for us; it restricts us to our personal decisions and our
affections to a few persons nearest to us.

Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion
to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

The Rules For Being Human
An excerpt from A Return To Love by Marianne Williamson.

You Will Receive A Body
You may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for as long as you live. How you take care of it
or fail to take care of it can make an enormous difference in the quality of your life.

You Will Learn Lessons
You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called life. Each day you will be presented
with opportunities to learn what you need to know. The lessons presented are often
completely different from those you THINK you need.

There Are No Mistakes, Only Lessons
Growth is a process of trail, error and experimentation. You can learn as much from
failure as you can from success. Maybe more.

A Lesson Is Repeated Until It Is Learned
A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you
have learned it (as evidenced by a change in your attitude and ultimately your behavior,
then you can go on to the next lesson.

Learning Lessons Does Not End
There is no stage of life that does not contain some lessons. As long as you live there will
be something more to learn.

"There" Is No Better Than "Here"
When your "there" has become a "here", you will simply discover another "there" that will
again look better than your "here". Don't be fooled by believing that the unattainable is
better than what you have.

Others Are Merely Mirrors of You
You can not love or hate something about another person unless it reflects something you
love or hate about yourself. When tempted to criticize others, ask yourself why you feel so
strongly.

Louise Hay

"I have long believed: Everything I need to know is revealed to me. Everything I need
comes to me. All is well in my life. There is no new knowledge."

Deepak Chopra

I love the Simpsons as much as the next person, but that quote is very un-witchy. Aren't we supposed to allow everyone to choose their own path without judgemnt? That's hypocrisy..... How would you feel if you couldn't talk about Wicca or even witchraft in school? I think all religions belong in school- but then again I try not to judge people.
P.S. For your information, there are many facts that support Christianity- just like there are many facts that support some sort of Darwinism (perhaps not as extreme as his theory was.)

"Dreams are a strange animal. Sometimes they're literal, sometimes they're symbolic. And sometimes you get the rabid monkey orgy." :hehehehe:

I didn't read all the quotes, so I don't know if these are repeats or not, but here are some quotes:

"When I liked him I loved him, him I loved him I let him, when I let him I lost him." A quote my former Pastor's wife told me.

"Character is what makes a person sexy" Gavin Rossdale the lead singer of Bush.

And darnet that's all I can think of right now. I'll have to get back to you.

:huddle:
Blessed be!
:floating:

Oh, for heaven's sake honey. . . it was a quote, most likely meant as a joke. :geez: Don't take things so seriously. Nobody's bashing Christianity.

I've got a list!

"...everything that passes unattempted is impossible."
--The Illearth War, Stephen R. Donaldson

"Whenever she returned to it Froniga found fresh delight in her home. When she got up on fine mornings she would find her window covered with frost flowers, with behind them the fires of the rising sun. She could not see the sun, she could only see the flame that seemed sparkling and crackling just behind her window, and she would stretch out her arms and laugh with joy. The fire on her hearth had never seemed to burn so merrily. The apple logs had blue and yellow flames, the cherry logs smelt like flowers and the burning fir cones were edged with the same color that had sparkled behind the frost flowers on her window. She would kneel before the hearth, warming her hands and singing, and Pen her white cat would weave round and round her purring and vibrating. But Pen was not so white as the snowflakes that fell outside her window, sometimes singly, like the feathers of a white swan that had passed overhead, sometimes in dense masses of falling light. Her room too was then so full of light that the flames on the hearth paled and did not come into their own again until dark came and she drew the curtains, and sat with her spinning wheel before the fire."
--The White Witch, Elizabeth Goudge

"Cast your eyes on the ocean,
Cast your soul to the sea;
When the dark night seems endless,
Please remember me."
--Loreena McKennitt, "Dante's Prayer"

"The world is so empty if one thinks only of mountains, rivers and cities; but to know someone here and there who thinks and feels with us, and though distant, is close to us in spirit - this makes the earth for us an inhabited garden."
--Goethe

"The heart cherishes secrets not worth the telling."
--Stephen R. Donaldson

And my FAVORITE!
"There is prejudism everywhere, except Canada. They don't make generalizations about people because they're too busy playing hockey, getting drunk or putting maple syrup on their ham."

All books can be indecent though recent books are bolder,
For filth (I’m glad to say) is in the mind of the beholder.
When correctly viewed, everything is lewd. ~ Tom Lehrer (he's always quotable)

".....I could tell you things about Peter Pan, and The Wizard of Oz, there's a dirty old man!!"

That one is one of my favorite Tom Lehrer songs!!:hehehehe:

"I thrill.....for any book like Fanny Hill
And I suppose I always will......if it is swill
And really fil.......thy"- Tom Lehrer

This is one that has become very important to me lately... :)

Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is that quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow~ unknown
