Can anyone give me a good link for purchasing BLACK wood stain?
I have been searching for this for a long time now, and none of my local stores carry any!
Internet sources are what I am looking for.
I would be especially pleased if the place was also good for those "odd" crafting supplies that some of us would be looking to buy! If not, maybe some links for things of that nature? (i.e. animal goods, rare materials like woods, stones or metals, that sort of "odd")
Thanks! Darkstaff

I believe Ritt Dye also works as a wood stain, if I'm remembering the instructions from the last time I dyed anything. I know it worked on the wooden spoon I was using.

I don't know of any online stores but I bought some at Home Depot a few years ago for a reptile enclosure I built.

I hadn't thought of black stain, I use acrylic paint mixed with water.
It takes about three coats and when the wood is dry you have to sand it again. I'll try and get to the camera this week and put up a few pictures.

Hey! I used your suggestion, as it was easiest and very economical.
It is working like a charm! I am so far very happy with the results. I am using it for a staff that I will use for hiking this summer.
Most of the staff is black, with about 6 inches of bark left on, and about 3 inches of natural (no bark) at the top. I plan on doing a gaian inspired woodburning on the natural part. I also plan on wrapping a leather strap handgaurd on it, and a few loose leather thongs for tying gifts from Spirit to.
Thanks Ember!

Edit: This is darkstaff saying that I posted this on my love's username because I did not realize that she was signed in and not me. Has anyone else ever done this??

Please post pictures. It sounds very interesting. I do woodburning also. I love to see what fellow pyrographers do. :abanana:
