I'm looking out the front door, watching it rain so hard i can't see the houses across the street... the first tornado warning of the season for the area has just been issued... the yard is literally covered in hail somewhere between golf ball & tennis ball size... the wind is kickin' it about 60mph... the street is running curb deep like a river... thunder & lightning are flashing & crashing non-stop... Gods in Asgard, but I do love springtime in Oklahoma!!!

You better have shielded my car as I was shielding yours here at work.

We didn't get anything but raindrops and lightning here in Tahlequah......it seems we don't get much of anything! We didn't even get any of the little bit of snow that Tulsa got!
I did write about tornadoes as dream symbols a few weeks ago:

:hehehehe: In the summer, you might get a dustdevil or two, but that's about it...

Thank you for that article! I have had re-occuring dreams of tornados for years (I don't have a terrible fear of them... living most of my life in Texas I've seen a few myself... and at one time in my life even daydreamed about becoming a storm-chaser) and perhaps your introspection will help shed some light on why I keep having these dreams.

We're about to get some bad weather here. The 3rd bad storm since Easter weekend. Possible tornados, heavy rain, flooding, hail..I'm tired of it already!!! The Alabama River is about 10 feet above flood stage already. They're calling it severe weather. I call it stop my life weather. Because it's so bad, I can't do the things I need to get done. I've been running around doing laundry all morning in case we loose electricty, like we did last time. And being that we have a tornado alarm about 500 yards from our house, I hope it doesn't go off again!! And I really need to get soem grocery shopping done, but my sister won't leave!! Grr..it's supposed to be here by 3 pm and it's 12:30 now. I feel like I don't have enough time!!!

Sounds like great fun!!! (Insert sarcasm here).......We had a storm here last week where we were literally dodging lightning bolts coming indoors....Just good old Southern fun!!!

We got a little hail, but sisters window got a crack and she was only a few miles form here. Crazy weather. It keeps it interesting though.

That shield that Elise put up around my car? I'd hate to have seen the dings if it hadn't been there... but I still love it!

What kind of shield is it? I mean, what's it made of? Is it like those soft car-covers?
If I ever move back to AZ, it'd be handy to have one! :p

No--a psychic shield of protection I threw up around the car when the hail started. There were also limbs around the other cars...but none near his car.

We get those kinds of storms here in Central Illinois. I think they are beautiful, but I prefer to watch them from the safety of my basement. I got caught in one out on the interstate a few years ago, and since then I've developed a phobia. :blushake:
They still are so beautiful it seems a shame!

I'm so glad it helped! I love writing about stuff I know well......when I moved my kids out to Oklahoma I promised them that 'naders were few and far between. We watched one go down the other side of the highway we lived on when we were here exactly 3 weeks - it's the same one I talk about in the article, that left the neighbor's storage shed up in the tree!
