I don't know if they work these were in my emailbox. I was wondering if any of you have heard of these or tried them and if they worked for you. As you see they are by different people. I wanted some imput before I tried anything. Thanks.

If you are serious about losing weight - here is a tip that not only helps
control your appetite, but will also help digestion, allergies, blood pressure
and cholesterol levels. It will also give you a boost of energy. Amazing isn't
it, and it costs pennies. Here is the formula:
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (undiluted)
1/2 to 1 teaspoon natural unprocessed honey
1 clove garlic - minced
1 8 ounce glass of cold water
Mix together and drink 3 glasses a day. Works well to curb appetite if taken
1/2 hour before meals. Can also be used during the day as a quick pick me up.
You can get the honey and vinegar at your health food store. Unprocessed vinegar
is the best as it retains all it's beneficial properties. I'm surprised your
herbalist did not tell you about this. If you decide to try it, I would
appreciate your letting me know how it's helped you. By the way - it does not
taste as bad as it sounds. Myself - I
prefer it with cold water. Also, you can adjust the measurments. Since this is
all foods - there is no side effects like you could get with drugs. Good
luck!!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Drink a glass of water when you feel hungry, especially late at night. Dont
overeat, only eat just enough so you don't feel hungry anymore. After your
evening meal, don't eat anything till breakfast. If you feel hungry throughout
the night or evening, drink plenty of water. Keep moving about, keep busy to
burn off the excess fatty tissue.
Good Luck, and best health to you.
P.S. After my second baby , I did this and lost 30 Lbs in 2 months... I think
it's a healthy way to lose weight because water is so good for you anyway. And
we often tend to eat more than we really need. I think our stomach's can
stretch and we feel we need more food than our metabolism can burn...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I started keeping a journal of everything I ate. Then
after about 3 weeks, I sat down and analyzed where, what & when I was eating the
most. You really have to be honest with yourself or it doesnt work. Little
things really help. I used 4 spoons of sugar in my coffee, I went to 2. I cut
butter out completely. When I wanted fast food, I ordered grilled chicken
PLAIN. I also drank enough water that would probably fill the Atlantic Ocean!!!
I parked at the far end of parking lots, never went through the
drive through, took the stairs instead of the elevator, etc. It took some time,
but I did get down to about 170 pounds. I had a baby in March of this year, and
gained 50
pounds. I weighed 150 before I had him, and was at 175 last I checked and am
doing those same things now. It really does take willpower, but in the end you
not
only look better, but you feel wonderful. I wish you much luck and just
remember, it takes patience & time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a diet that is totally guaranteed to help you lose weight. I use to
model and this was the diet that I would use before runway shows. I also like
it because it only takes one week to lose up to 20 lbs. and after you are done
with the diet it helps your metabolism to speed up. This diet only gets rid of
fat cells, not muscles.
Cabbage Soup
1 head of cabbage
1 packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix
1 bunch of celery
1 large can of stewed tomatoes
6 medium sized onions
2 large bell peppers
Season to your taste Take all ingredients and chop to desired size. Cover with
water and boil until done.
Day 1: Fruits.
Day 2: Vegetables
Day 3: Fruits and vegetables. At night you are allowed to have a baked potato
with 2 teaspoons of butter.
Day 4: 2 bananas with 1 cup skim milk.
Day 5: 10-20 oz. of lean beef with 2 tomatoes.
Day 6: Fruits
Day 7: Vegetables
The only things that you may drink are water, unsweetened fruit juice and no
CAFFEINE. That means no coffee or tea. No milk either except for the day that
is noted. You may eat as much soup as you want, the more you eat the more
weight you lose. In 3 days you should have lost 3-5 lbs.. In 7 days you can
lose 10-17
lbs.. On your fruit and veggie days try to eat water based fruits and
veggies(i.e. watermelon, honeydew melon) Try to stay away from fill you up
foods. The thing that I liked about this recipe is that if you measure yourself
before the diet and after the diet it significantly is different body
measurements. Try it, I know that it works because it worked for me.
PS-there will be a change in your bowel movements.

The last one I've heard of. The cabbage soup is excellent for dieters. (Even without following the whole diet plan that follows it, though I suggest making your own broth rather than using liptons.) It takes as many calories to digest it, as you are taking in. It's good to make a huge pot of it and keep it around for any cravings. I also used to keep a food log, but I was anorexic and unhealthy. (BTW I've been completely recovered for 5-6 years now, so no need to worry.)

I would be careful with unprocessed honey. Most allergy sufferers have an allergy to Pollen. Drinking anything (or eating) with honey, especially unprocessed can cause severe allergic reactions.

Now in case anyone doesn't wanna go on any rad diet or make up wierd mixtures, here's some (supposedly) common sense ideas;

- don't drink soda all day - fruit juices, (skim) milk, and lots of water are preferred

- don't eat candy, chips, or any other high sugar or fat snacks on a regular basis - a candy bar as a treat for finishing a project once in awhile is great, junk food every day is not

- beer and a lot of alcoholic drinks are empty calories - again, watch your intake

- lots of lean protein for muscle building

- lots of fruits and vegetables for snacks

- if you don't eat properly you will lose muscle, NOT fat, so EAT

- consider taking a multivitamin to make sure you get your extra nutrients

- be careful about using weight loss pills, as far as I'm concerned the only time you can't lose weight without them is when you're physically obese (unable to lose weight) in which case you need to see your doctor

If you cut down the junk foods in your diet and strive to eat several smaller meals a day with snacks (to keep your sugar levels regular and to prevent bingeing) you can get away with treating yourself once in awhile and still lose some fat. You can also try walking an hour a day, bicycling, doing a fitness tape, playing sports, or just chasing your kids. These simple ideas will make a difference in your weight and health so if you're serious about improving those I strongly suggest you consider following the above ideas.

(psst I'm not saying the other ideas in this thread are wrong or won't work or anything, I just thought I'd put forth some ideas about this that I think some people forget. What I posted here are some things I think you should try FIRST if you're serious about wanting to change your weight/health.)

The best thing in the world is to eat real food, not processed sugar junk. I lost 5 lbs in a month just by stopping drinking soda. I've continued by not eating sugar, white bread, white flour, pastas, potatoes, rice or corn. I've also eliminated margarine and corn oil. I eat lots of salads and veggies, meat, fish, chicken, eggs, some dairy, and a little fruit, with healthy oils and fats as necessary for cooking. I drink lots and lots of water, a little coffee and herbal tea, no diet sodas. I'm now down 32 lbs and still going. I hope to be on the right side of 200 by Thanksgiving, and maybe down around 190 by Christmas.

I drink tea with honey and vinegar in it daily(no garlic though). I've been feeling pretty good. It's supposed to help with allergies, baldness, headaches, circulatory problems, constipation, fatigue, impotence, vericose veins, memory problems, obesity and a host of other things too. It seems as if my feet are'nt as cold, and I do feel a bit more energetic, and am a bit more regular. But I've also started a workout program and incorporated more fiber into my diet. So.....who knows.

About raw honey...my boyfreind used to have wicked allergy problems. We started using raw honey from local bees. His allergies are pretty much non-existant.

I've heard about these tips, Yvonne. Someone at work was just telling me about the cabbage soup diet. She lost about 15 pounds but found it was hard to stick to and not good for long term.

I've heard a lot of good things about apple cider vinegar. It's even available in health food & vitamine stores as a weight loss aid.

Eating healthy is really inportant but so is exercise. I just lost 20 lbs by eating healthy, jogging, and doing yoga. Jogging is awsome cardio and yoga helps to build nice lean defined muscle. Together, they make a great combo.
If you have children you could take them on walks and take them to yoga class with you. Where I live, taking your children to yoga class is really encouraged. It's amazing what kids can do! You could pick up a yoga book if you haven't practiced before, but I really suggest going to a class for the first few times so that you know what to do and what not to do. You don't want to hurt yourself.
*Lots of hugs*
Good luck on the weight loss journey!

:) :) :)
Excellent advice! The combination of regular exercise and a healthy diet..including cutting the processed sugar down or out...is the best way to lose weight and keep it off, and get healthier at the same time.

I just lost 18 pounds and am finally down to 125.(Haven't been there for at least 5 years).
Anyway, the way I did it was with Weight Watchers, which works very well. They tell you to eat. Yeah!!
I have also been doing aerobics 4 days a week and yoga on the weekends. Friday is the only day that I don't work out.
I have found my energy level sky rocket. And I feel wonderful.
I hit my goal on weight watchers,( don't want to look like a skeleton) and am looking forward to becoming a lifetime member. Wish me luck.
Anyway, this is what has worked for me. 1 hour of aerobics 4 days a week and 1/2 hour of yoga Saturday and Sunday morning.
Good luck to all trying to lose. You will feel great if you can accomplish it!:)

Congratulations, Jazzmine! It must feel great to reach that goal! Well, hopefully I'll manage to get there sometime. I might check out weight watchers myself. They do use a sensible way of eating, not a crash diet, and emphasize exercising too. Sounds like I might do better there.

I tried the cabbage diet along with 3 others at work, none of us lost any more than 5 pounds, and it was horrid trying to stick to.
