People always go on about the ailments which crystals help, but surely there must be a flip side to this whereby they hinder or damage other things. :whatgives

Well, according to my mom, Onyx attracts nightmares during sleep, and is bad for an Earth sign because it's a grounding stone, and is likely to make an Earth sign more depressed. I'm not saying this is 100% true, I'm just saying that this is what she said.

*Mr Burns-esque* innntersting...
It would be interesting to see if anyone else can come up with any more, and maybe I can compile a list of them for the use of all mw'ers, like how websites compile lists of their positive aspects...

Not entirely sure what a list of various people's UPG about stones would really accomplish. I mean...I know certain stones affect me negatively in a certain way, but it definetely doesn't for others.

all alternative treatment can cause ill effects for a short term whislt the body re-adjusts its energy. so it may be hard to tell what is short term and what is long term.
Some of the negetive effects are actually healing

everything that has an effect on something can have when used wrong way a side effect or a negative effect.
it is therefore I keep on advertizing, that one seeks not only the advice of pals and/or books when you have a problem, but a serious stone consulting by a stone consultant. I am not saying all people come to me, but there are other good consulatnts out there and the ones having a problem should not hesitate contact someone who knows their stuff to solve it.
as much as you can get help on message baords and medical chats, still a doctos office often is the best place to get a sound help.
and to answer your question: yes I have had wanted and unwanted results with stones, and also sometimes some side effects have to be taken into account, in order to get a solution worked out, especially if time is a matter
ETA: as for your list of side effects: they are already there.
every effect can be a side or ill effect depending on eye of beholder. rosequartz heals the heart-ache. to those who always are too forgiving in relationships so their partners abuse them rosequartz is a no-no. understood the principle?

My body respond to each stone differently... As far as I know, Lapis lazuli seems to attract negative energies to me... Moonstone cause me sickness....Right now, I'm testing myself with Unikite and Labradorite.
Hrm, last night, I placed a polished amazonite on my third eye chakra. And within 2 minutes, a strong pain thrust though my forehead (similiar to a sudden migran headache).... I removed it immediately...
I think each person responds differently to the different types of stones.
