Have you ever had an experience with Her?

Aphrodite's always been good to me. I've prayed to her to help me find my inner-beauty, and recently, I prayed to her to help me find a new love(basically, guide me in my love life). Needless to say, I met a great guy not long after that.

I just wanted to see if anyone here has had good experiences with her like I have, or if you aren't really a fan of her.(That wouldn't be surprising, due to the myths about her.)

Aphrodite's one of my favorite mythological dieties. she has greater depth than most would attribute to her. :)

Are there deities with whom you just don't connect? Well, Aphrodite is one of those goddesses. I just didn't understand her. I do appreciate her and realize her importance in the Greek pantheon. I just personally don't work with her.

Aphrodite has been a guide to for some time now. I pray to her, and let her help me through times of trouble.

I'm not really fond of any of the Greek deities. If I'm going to ask a fertility and love deity for aide, it will be Freyja or Ishtar.

I love Aphrodite, she is my patron goddess and now that she's been with me, I couldn't imagine my life without her. There is a whole lot more to her than most people realise. The Olympian religion depicts her as kind of a ho, but in the pre-patriarchal Greek world, she was worshipped as a Great Mother Goddess. She was a goddess of nature and the life-force, and therefore, sexuality. She is seen as an indpendant maiden, a nurturing and fertile mother and even a dark goddess of destruction. There is a lot more to her than love, but then again love also has many faces. Sometimes I find her ways mysterious, but I know she does what is best in the long run. To summarize, yes my experience with Aphrodite has been positive ^_^

Does anyone know why Aphrodite is associated with swans? there are several representations of aphrodite wih, or riding on, a swan. Occasionally, a goose. I can't find any mythology that explains what the association is. Can anyone help?
