I am looking for a specific deck. I was looking through a friend's and it is a beautiful deck! It is by Ted Andrews and the pictures of the animals are photograpic. I have no diea what the name of the deck is and she does not always remember. I know that sounds odd but it is one of those pieces of information that wanders in and out of her head.

The odd thing is that I do not use tarot decks. I use strictly divination decks. This one is simply something that calls to me. I have yet to figure out how to deal with actual tarot and the various meanings. I have a native american Animal deck and an Aztec deck. Both are divination and I use them differently. I do not do readings for others.

Anyone who can help me out would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Aeclectictarot.com lists just about every deck there is in IMO. If it isn't there or tarot garden then good luck. I have no clue what you mean by divination deck. Thats what tarot decks are for.

Thank you! I appreciate the site. I ordered the tarot deck and the animal wise book from Walden's. By going to the site listed I was able to find the name of the deck so I could order it. I have been trying to remember the site that you listed because I used to love going and browsing there! Beautiful beautiful decks and I used to love just looking at the cards.

The difference between Tarot and Divination decks is not in the purpose but in the deck itself. Unless I am wrong, and I may well be, tarot decks typically have a set pattern to the cards. I think they tend to be soemthing along the lines of 77 cards and have things like cups and swords either directly or represented. Divination decks have no formula to them.

For example my Aztec divination deck has 20 cards and 13 numbered disks. You draw a disk for each card and that changes the meaning. You put it back in the bag and draw again for the next card.

I hope that helps explain it. I know that I am not up enoguh on actual Tarot to have all of my numbers and things like that straight.

Thank you

I am glad that my reply made sense. We are in the opposite position. I have never used tarot. I tried learning the rider waite deck years ago, think high school and hiding the deck from my mother, and never really got the feel of it. Later on I tried looking through other decks and never really felt the connection. I use an Aztec divination deck and I use an animal deck. I can not think of the name of that one. It is a Native American Animal deck. I love both of them.
