Deviousness?

well I have to say I was really excited when the Art forum expanded, but I have found for a while now that if you want real constructive critisizm and solid opinions from your peers, the best thing is to join an art community like DEVIANTART.com

I am not putting MW down, just seems like I shouldn't even bother posting art here anymore because I want people's opinions and I don't get them

this is where DA has been a great thing for me, I have met some amazing people from all over the globe, got to hang out and befriend a wonderful photographer that will one day be the next Richard Avadon, plus the overall response from people about my art is wonderful to have

so just wanted to see who else is on DA here besides moi :D

I always feel it's a good thing to get different opinions and step out a bit and see what others have to say. It's a good thing!

My intro to DA was almost 3 years ago and I have wanted to put my work up there but Iam a bit leary.... i hear or have heard that they are really picky about things is that true?

I don't think so :hrmm: As far as I know they have a few policies on very explicit nudity and self-multilation depiction, but I think that's it. Maybe it's Elfwood you're thinking of; I had a gallery there but scrapped it because I was tired of having to wait a week and a half only to have one or two things approved.

No it is DA and it was from people who once had there stuff up there and no it did not have anything to do with nudity or self mutilation or such.

And aside from what I have heard I am just leary cause I have never put up my work in such place before... nerves ya know :D

could you please elaborate on what these "people" told you?
I have been there over a year and can probably tell you if it is true or not

plus any work you put on the internet has the chance of being "ripped" or stolen, if that's what you are worried about

I am there....I absoultly love how much freedom I have there, and the fact that I don't have to wait two weeks to add one more thing, unlike at Elfwood! I havn't really meet many pepole yet...and can't seem to get very many pepole to visit my page. I have no idea how to do that. :wah2:

Well if it's criticism you're after hon, try doing something that /doesn't/ look absolutely amazing! :hugz: I'm a fellow artist, work as a graphic designer, and am probably about the most picky person you'd ever meet, but I haven't found one thing about the work you've posted that I don't like yet. :)

Other than that, I tend to find that a lot of people really don't know how to talk about art... people either like something or they don't, and they don't even really know why much of the time. I know it sucks as an artist looking for feedback sometimes... but art can be a really subjective thing to the viewer. :)
