My name is Penthesilea and since Introductions are for introducing, I shall. I found this site on April 2 and have since spent an indecent amount of time prowling around doing reconnaissance. I've spent a lot of time at The Site Room, Just Talk and some of the other forums and I like what I see. This looks like a place where someone like me could be comfortable. "Me" being, among other things, female, caucasian, rural, heterosexual and a moderate Republican. I'm a self-taught solitary. I'm undercover (sounds much cooler than "in the broom closet") and my secret/cover identity is that of an unChurched Christian housewife. I'm married (my husband really is an unChurched Christian) and I spend the majority of my time riding herd on a swarm of kids and cats. Since our "in state" social circle consists entirely of Christians, I'm here looking for community. A place where I can relax and not have to worry about letting something slip. I cultivate my "inner fluffy" diligently. I am a Scorpio (Ascendant: Leo, Moon: Virgo, Midheaven: Aries) and I've been around long enough to know that the world isn't all sunshine, lollipops and rainbows. If I allow myself to dwell on that ...well, the results would not be pretty. (Fat, morbid and cranky. You wouldn't like me when I'm cranky!) So I make every effort to think happy thoughts and maintain an optimistic outlook, especially with 2012 fast approaching. I should warn you that I am opinionated and I "call 'em like I see 'em." (that Scorpio thing again) but I've managed to learn some tact along the (hard) way. I've seen a couple of threads to which I think I can make a contributation but his i my first "real" chat/forum/discussion experience (only 5 months on the Web) so I will probably mess up some. I will experiment. I will endeavor not to blow anything up or crash the site. Be patient, please. "Learn by doing" has always been my best learning style even if it can be a bit ...ah... untidy. It will take me a while to learn to use those cute little smilies so my posts may lack visual interest for a while. Sorry. That is all that I can thing of for now. See you on the threads!
