The only time I consider reversals is in "yes/no" spreads of 5 or 7 cards---real predictable, upright cards are yes and reversed are no. I know other readers who consider the reversed cards as 'blocks' to your being able to experience the archetype of the card which is reversed.

That would be the ONLY way I would read reversed cards....or take them into consideration. In no other spreads do I shuffle for reversed cards.

Its strange because although my cards are all mixed up I hardly ever get reversed cards these days.. hmm.. even in answer's for questions! Wierd....
I would take them into account though if they did pop up in questions!
...lol.. now they are going to start comign up arent they!

My pea brain can barely handle 78 definitions which are "deftly mixed with intuition"...:rotfl:really, I don't take my "ability" as seriously as I take guidance from the guides. I have a a couple of readings where most of the cards were reversed (I typically use a 15 card spread); I had the client reshuffle the cards and things were much more clear. I try to gauge the feeling and meaning of each card with the surrounding cards. Dealing with reversed meanings requires me to think very, very hard, and that my makes my head hurt:boing:

I read reversed cards, for me it works fine, I don't get reversed cards all that often, but it happens... :)

I respect anyone who deals well with reversed cards. I think it was .....ok, I forget...could have been in the McGregor/Vega book where they suggested to view the reversals as blockages. This would be along the line of a very positive card being a "cross" or hindrance for someone; either they are not allowing or something is hindering the natural process.
Look, the truth is that I'm not the most motivated person in the world and I "gets confused" if I "thinks too much". Kudos to you for being able to deal effectively with those reversals:shift:/robbie

I use reversed cards in my spreads, but here's how I deal with them. I've learned to follow my intuition, if a card comes up reversed, right off the bat I know whether or not it should be read as reversed. I read both meanings and I find that the meaning that sticks out coincides with which way I felt the card should be taken.

I found reversed cards hard to read, somehow I just couldn't grasp their meanings, especially when I was using them for my readings, most of the cards would be reversed and I'd be really confused. Oh well, once I get better at reading them, I'll start using reversed cards again.

I don't read reversed; in fact my favourite deck right now doesn't even have interpretations for the reverse. When I did I considered the reverse as a blockage or hindrance in the way of the meaning of the card, and now that I think of it if it was a really positive card I'd think the positivity was a little less "wonderful" if it was reversed.
