The Consecration
of
The Fourth Age of Druidry

How do you consecrate a Path? How do you ask the Gods their favors when you step into the unknown, the future?

And we stood there at the heelstone and in full view of the Gods we three. The wind is unusually quiet considering we are on one of the windiest spots on earth. But the pre-noon sun smiled down on 3 pioneers and our souls were warmed. Lewis and Clark viewed this same spot from the Columbia river over 200 years ago and yet we are no less pioneers than they are. Though the stones are cement the Gods are here, there is no doubt.

And as we look to the entrance and the alterstone ahead I cannot help but chuckle as I think 'I wonder if the druids allowed children to play on and people to use the alterstone as a picnic table?' Naaaah probably too much blood. For a family was having lunch with their children.

So we walked the spiral path around the menheirs and stood before the alterstone and prayed to the Gods and Goddesses for their continued blessings and guidance.

Strange and wonderful things happened that day that told me many thing. Such as when I walked around the henge and at the east entrance 2 monarch butterflys flew up before me and circled me....and I knew the Spirit of my beloved DianaStormdancer was there with me. :hearteyes :smoochypo I Love you M'lady. Then there was the interesting phenomanom (sp) that the only time I felt the wind was when I was at each of the cardinal points, blowing from a different direction each time.

Then Emrys and Nynn did something that actually made me cry. To those two I say this. I am honored beyond words. Never have two people touched me as you have and this is something I shall remember and treasure unto my grave.

I Love you All!

Peace.

To go from a very touching essay to horrible humor.......it boggles the senses.

Where exactly were you Twig that Lewis & Clark saw?

Mind Boggling Druids. That be us Seamus my friend.

We were atop a cliff at Maryhill WA., across the Columbia river from Biggs Junction OR. The site of Stonehenge rebuilt.

History says that they flaoted the river down to Celilo Falls....an important fishing spot for the indians who lived there....until the Bonneville and Dalles dam water covered this coveted and sacred site.

Which could have implications regarding the size and importance of prehistoric sheep?

I have read that Attilla the Hun wore the skins of field mice. I can't say if sheep size matters here. I rather doubt it.
