Alrighty then. I did a ritual for Arduinna. Twenty minutes into it, I started medidating and I kept on getting a image of this horrible greenish girl with fangs, etc, like the Excorcist. I havn't watched any scary movies lately for them to be implanted into my mind.
Well, I just tried to focus and then ended up ending the ritual. I did cast a circle and call the Guardians, and envisioned a blue protection thingy around me. I also saw a deluded image of a TALL and SKINNNYYYYYYYY woman holding her hands around me, shooing the girl off. Though I feel I made that part up to make myself feel better.
I don't think the scary girl was Arduinna...

so Arduinna, goddess of wild beasties, boars and woodlands. dark and damp wild places etc
so what were you expecting? a pretty woman who is loving and caring and mothering ?
from your description it sounds like you met her face to face, green and wild...seems like a perfect image of her. it also sounds to me that you have a slightly rosy tinted glasses image of what a deity should be.
id try again and speak to her this time rather than recoiling i fear or whatever.

No, it's not that I have a "disney" image of deities. I work with a few who are pretty dark. Its just I read a book about Arduinna and she doesn't seem to be the type that Tries to strangle you, twists her head around like the exorcist girl, and spits out feathers and blood and stuff and starts trying to kill me. LOL

Based on the description of your experience, this is what I believe it could be.
Before you can come before the Goddess, you must first pass 'the dweller'. What you saw could have been your own 'dweller', which is a manifestation of your own doubts, ego, fears.
Once you have faced your dweller and acknowledged it, then you may come before the gods.

Oh, so maybe before medidation I should do a technique such as dropping all my fears and doubts in a well? And then carry on? I did that in the jourenys to the otherworlds. :whatmewor

Yes, you could do that. Or you could just acknowledge it for what it is, and move on. The only way it will hurt you is if your allow it to interfere with your spiritual development. It is not the goal to irradicate it, only to face it without fear.
We all have a 'dweller'. It is that little voice that tells you you can't do this, you're not worthy of this. It is your ego. It also represents the dark aspects within yourself that you are afraid to look at. In a way, it is trying to protect you....though not being very useful.
The next time you see it, embrace it for what it is. Show it love. Doing so may turn it into a puppy, rather than the scary manifestation you are seeing.

Arduinna protects Nature...
perhaps by....
strangle you, twists her head around like the exorcist girl, and spits out feathers and blood and stuff and starts trying to kill
seems to me that this is an ideal way t do her job. she is going to be a wild goddess and will have 'wild' and uncivilisaed ways of doing things. prepare yoursefl for the possibility that this goddess will take time and hard work.
consider all options.

Arduinna protects Nature...
You can say that all you want, but when you're presenting evidence to the contrary you have to understand it will be hard to believe.
She is a Goddess of the forest, which is not always a happy sunny place full of dancing fairies. In some places, it's dark because light can't get in through the trees and you have to be either fast or fierce to survive.
Furthermore, Arduinna is strongly associated with Boars. Boars are not just wild piggies, they are mean. People used to die hunting them, and they are known for being dangerous. They are bristley, wild, and tough.
How is that not like the Arduinna you saw? Fierce, wild, and ready to fight to protect herself/the forest.

:holycow:
D.J Conway eh? oh well. i did have that book a while back, the chances are it has a few lines of info on Arduinna along the lines of Ardennes based goddess, or wild woods and thier beasties. also associated with boars.
is that about right?
id suggest that if you can you need to first of all show Arduinna that you are interested in working with her on a prper basis than plundering the woodlands in which she lives. if there is a woods near to you, go there and leave foods for the birds and other animals if you can... do this after letting her know you do this for her. plant a tree there too if you can... do lots of little things that will show her you can be trusted and have good intention, then perhaps the blood and feathers thing will stop.
you need to build a relationship with her rather than expect immediate trust and understanding.

No...
I guess the book just depicted that Goddess as kinder, and I did not expect it. It may be my 'dweller' or w.e... _tomatoe_
