Pars Fortuna

Just learned something new today, but I can't really figure out what it means. The term is "Part or Lot of Fortune" or "Pars Fortuna". I have calculated this by hand, as I couldn't figure it out on Solar Fire, and it is 5 degrees Leo in my 10th house. It is conjunct my sun. Can anyone give me a clue about what this means, as I haven't been very lucky in finding much detail about that.

for me it represents the type of activity or realm of experience or type of energy that brings us a kind of transcendental joy, a kind of joy completely unique to each individual. completely unique since it is based upon the relationship between your natal sun, moon, and rising point.

The Part of Fortune is where one traditionally feels good fortune or talents express themsleves best. It is created out of the longitudes of the Sun, Moon, and Ascendant, and therefore is composed out of the three of the most important places in the chart (only the Midheaven outside of these three is as important) and as a result becomes as important as they are.

The person with his Part of Fortune in the tenth house knows, deep down, that he must fulfill his role in society. He chooses a field where he can be a Professional Person. This person needs a place in the outside world, where his status and position is high and his name is associated with the field that he is in. This is the house of recognition and public standing, of career and ambition, of success and responsibility. Remember, this is Capricorn's house, so the person whose Part of Fortune is here is not afraid of hard work and effort if there is a goal to be reached.

I'm in a rather small career field and am rather well known in that area. This is rather uncanny to me.

Wish I knew how to calculate this with Solar Fire. I guess I'm gonna have to print the darn instructions a step it through, but I've tried a couple times and it just isn't working for me.

I have my Pars Fortuna in 5th house/Scorpio conjunct Uranus too. :D

umm, not really. i guess the opposition there makes this a goal to work toward, rather than a quality i already have, because i soooo don't have the assertive/pioneering/focus thing now.

Ya know that I think a persons background and family circumstance can sometimes over ride or eliminate entirely ones own natural instincts. You may find that later in life these things more describe your traits, but other things in you astrological chart may influence this conjunction and even supress this quality.

At any rate this is just my thought.
