I was wondering, are there any places that sell flower essences without the alcohol or vinegar added ? :( Also, has anyone here seen positive results with flower essences?

I did a quick search online and found this: http://www.myfloweressence.com/
Is that what you're looking for?

thanks, Dragonladyofwater, but I'm not sure if these have alcohol in them or not... I will email them... I hope they don't have alcohol in the flower essences since my body cannot tolerate alcohol or vinegar :( thanks for taking the time to look that up for me

have you considered making your own? I know how to make one from dandelions... dunno if that would help then you could add whatever you like from there.

Dragonladyofwater, I have no idea how to make flower essences? could you teach me? or maybe direct me to a book or something that you learned from? I would like to know how you make it from dandelions and what dandelion flower essence is good for? when I was little I used to find dandelions so magical.... I was such a happy little girl.... but anyways.... I'm hoping through magick (including flower essences) and Goddess worship I can gain back my lost innocence and sense of peace that I had as a child
and ((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))) for all the advice you've given me so far... I really appreciate you taking the time to reply to my posts, take care, Heather

My aunt taught me I'd not have a clue where else to direct you... which isn't a lot of help, sorry. All we used it for was to add it to tea at Teddy Bear Picnics so the sun would shine for them. And honestly as an adult I have no clue if that is even valid, but as an eight year old I loved it. However, I strongly suspect she made them for something else.

Anyway on dandelions there's a TON of stuff you can do with them, teas, potions, tinctures, poultices.... and so much info in books and on the web I wouldn't even know where to begin to direct you. You can normally do a quick search and find a few recipes and test them out though. Most recipes I find I end up changing a bit depending on what I am using them for, helps to make them more my own.

How To Process Flower Essences at Home
From Phylameana lila Desy,
Your Guide to Holistic Healing.

Selecting essences is often a process of inner growth and awareness. Flower essences are the blossoms of plants prepared from a sun infusion in a bowl of water, then further diluted, potentized, and then preserved with brandy.
Difficulty: Average

Time Required: 4 to 6 hours

Here's How:
1. Sterilize your equipment by washing with hot soapy water. Be sure not to touch the inside surface of bowl and jars after washing to insure the purity of the essence to be processed.
2. Intuitively connect with the Deva (entity or life spark) of the flower you have chosen to process in deciding how many actual flower heads are to be collected (generally one to five).
3. Collect the flower head by snipping them onto the glass saucer while being careful not to handle them. Touching them or sniffing them will alter the flower's energy.
4. Remove the petals using scissors or tweezers. Allow the petals to fall onto the glass saucer without handling them with your hands.
5. Fill two-quart bowl with one quart of distilled water.
6. Lift the petals one by one and place them in the bowl of water so that each petal touches the water surface. The petals will float. Shake loose all the stamen before hand.
7. Place the bowl in the garden or sunny place outdoors.
8. Repeat steps 2-7 for each individual flower variety that you are making during the preparations.
9. Give prayerful request to the nature spirits for the healing properties of the flowers be treated by the sunlight. Allow 30-60 seconds per bowl full of petals. Deva energy is cosmically released into the water.
10. Allow the grounding process to take place. 3 hrs. - sunny day, 2 hrs. - partly sunny day
11. Fill two quart canning jars with approximately 1 qt. of brandy. Recommended ratio is 40-50 percent brandy and 60-50 percent essence (no more than 50 percent brandy).
12. Fill the remainder of the jars with the solarized flower solution.
13. Secure the jar with clean lid and bands and label with name of flower and date.
14. The finished jars can be then placed with the center of your garden or an alternate "power spot" for final processing.
15. Congratulations, your mother tinctures are complete!

Tips:
Tools and supplies needed: scissors, long tweezers, 2 quart glass bowl, glass saucer, distilled water, quart canning jars and lids, brandy
Best time for collecting flowers: 8 AM - 10:30 AM. A sunny day is a must in preparing flower essences!
Choose flowers a day a head of being fully open.
Choosing which flower to be made into essences for your personal use can in itself be a process of inner growth and awareness.

This recipe and instructions set still has brandy in it but I don't know of nor can I find any way to make them without it... maybe with this as a start you can experiment a little?

My method
Place flower heads on the surface of a glass bowl filled with spring water
Leave in sunlight for 3 hours so the flower essence is transferred to the water
Discard flower heads
The water now holds the essence this can be preserved in brandy or any other preservation you wish
This is then known as the Mother tincture

Another method is to collect the dew (nature's natural way of producing the essence)

20 of the Bach flower remedies are made this way the other 18 are boiled (these are mainly tree remedies

Collect twigs with flower catkins
Boil in spring water for 30 minutes leave to cool
Discard plant parts
Again make into a mother tincture

then make stock bottles from the mother tincture by diluting it with more brandy or preservative

I keep a lot of the Bach flower remedies around. They are still potent when they are extremely diluted, can you handle a tiny tiny drop in a glass of water?

Also, this one is from left field, but if you are interested in radionics at all you could put the essence on a radionics paper and only the beneficial part (not the booze) would be transferred to you.

I recently wrote an article on flower essences and dreamwork. Our New Age editor is going to do a whole series - she actually has a certification. The link to her first article in the series is in my article:

I'm reading your article now. I love the part -- "Forget-Me-Not can help facilitate communication with spirit guides and departed loved ones." Hee hee, gives a whole new meaning to Forget Me Not. :)

LOL, thanks - and interestingly, I planted some of those last year and they didn't come up til this year, in my faerie garden - well, now it's a Mary garden.......Mary was my first goddess so I still honor her. Looks like Catholic Mexicans live here now, though.....

I can't say whether I've had positive results with flower essences. I have some, and I use them, but I really don't know if they help. If they do, it's subtle...
