For this child yet to be born into this world, I give the gift of this blessing.
May you have the strength of your father
May you have the beauty of your mother
May you have the wisdom of the earth
May you have the wonder of sunrise
May you have the warmth of fire
May you have the serneity of water
May you have the constant love of the sun
May you have the inspiration of the moon
May you have the shelter of the trees
May you have the safety of the sky
May you have the sweetness of the morning dew
May you have the blessings of the Goddess upon you
And for this child's parents
I give you the blessings of strength
I give you the blessings of serenity
I give you the blessings of stillness
I give you the blessings of silence
I give you the blessings of happiness
I give you the blessings of tears
I give you the blessings of hope
I give you the blessings of wise fears
I give you the blessings of compassionate restraint
Nine blessings of which I suspect all parents need. I'd bless you with sleep, but I suspect not even that could work against the force of nature that is known as an infant.
Goddess bless them with happiness and all the joy that they can carry in their lives. Make their burdens light and their joys endless. Let thier days be such that they can handle with confidence and their nights restfull and peace. This is my wish for them.
