My SO's best friend and his wife just had a baby on Thursday. I'd like to get them a gift and I thought it'd be nice to get them something along the lines of a crystal or cluster or something. Anyone have any suggestions on a good idea for a new mother and child crystal/stone? Good health, or protection, or something. Something that wouldn't need to much cleansing, since i don't think she knows the process, etc. (Maybe i should add a note to rinse in spring water once in a while or something. ;) ) Thanks!

My first thoughts are moonstone and rose quartz. Moonstone for its nurturing/Goddess connection and rose quartz for love and affection.

awesome. so should i get one of those little tiny vials and put them in there or make a amulet? I'm not sure exactly how 2 crystals are worn at the same time (if they are) thanks!!!

A general stone with easy care would be a clear crystal cluster that she would only need to cleanse with running tab water once a month (which also dusts it off)
i would suggest either needle queartz from china
or
brazilian clear quartz

When I think of a mother with her newborn, I see two people in need of rest and calming influences. An amethyst cluster placed in the baby's room might be a nice way to go.
Peace,
Gabriel

maybe also lavender jade (if you can afford one)
lavender jade is a protecting stone for pregnant women and young mothers
