Hello, all. I am new to so many things so please excuse my mistakes. I am looking for advice on Pagan Homeschooling. I have read several books and my husband and I have decided it is the right thing to do for our daughter. We were directed to a local bookstore for curriculum and upon arriving found it to be geared towards Christians. Very much so. I was hoping that someone would know the name of a publisher of curriculum that was not so biased. Thank you. Blessed Be. ~moonbaby

There was a webpage I ran across not to long ago http://www.geocities.com/atheistview/secular_homeschool.htm it has a list of homeschool publishers that don't have a strong Christian bias.

While I can't point you to any websites or stores (I have not homeschooled my son in a very long time). I can point you toward www.meetup.com and then check for home school pagans in your area - there are a couple groups here in az so there might be some where you are also.
Good luck - it is a difficult choice and a hard road but very rewarding. :)

Do a search here at Mystic Wicks in the Family forum we have. There are many homeschooling threads and you may find the information you need in one of them.

The Oakmeadows curriculum is very nature based and has some very pagan ideals. If I used a curriculum, it would probably be that one, but I recommend you read Teach Your Own by John Holt as well. www.oakmeadow.com

I found a lot of information at www.vegsource.com. Scroll down and on left under More Discussions you'll see the Home Schooling button. There you'll find a couple dozen boards discussing various homeschooling topics.

I suggest that you start with Pagan Homeschooling by Kristen Madden. It has a lot of very good topics on how to get started as well as resources on where to find some of the information that you need. If you have a small child, under the third grade, you can go to www.learningpages.com and find worksheets that are downloadable in pdf format that are all very nature based.
There is also these sites that you may find intersting, all taken from Kristen Madden's book that I mentioned before.

These are just a few, and I don't know that all of them will work. But this is a great place to start. There are also pagan parenting e-zines that you can subscribe to. One is called Pooka's sandbox found at www.elsieandpooka.com and another is Acorns: Pagan Homeschool Newsletter found at http://members.tripod.com/acorns3/
