I think its a label given to the creator, but many disagree. What everyone elses opinion?

I think that all those names, God, Goddess, Tao, Allah, etc, are just that, names. They are different interpretions of the same thing. Those names may refer to different parts of the "all" (yet another name), or may reflect different visions of what the "all" is. Who or what the all is (or isn't), I cannot say.

That's my opinion anyway.

But some people do not believe in the "all", so for those it makes a difference whether you speak of Allah or of Yahwe, or of Tao, or of Shiva, or of Kali...

It would also depend on wether they thought of them as physical beings or not.

For me it doesn't matter whether people believe in "All", anymore then it matters whether they believe Yahweh is the one True God. To *me*, all Gods are one God, the All, and when they think there is only one true God they are only letting themselves see one face of the All.

Besides that, I think All is a concept that people too often try to ascribe humanly understood attributes to. S/he/it is beyond our comprehension anyway. The closest I can come to imagining it is as All being energy that is all around us; sometimes energy is of a certain type or on a certain plane and it is an archetype of any face of All. And yet, energy is all around us and within us, so we are also part of All, as are all things. When people worship or work with a certain archetype they focus and change energy to match it, on whatever plane, and therefore all Gods exist on some plane in some form. However, in their most pure form they are all energy that is all around us, and therefore we and they are All one.

Thats what i think to, Myst. In fact, i've used that and some other things in many an english essay to explain the concept of magick.

In the end, is everything not labeled? Even us. Labels, I feel, are just used to help put things in their nice little neat places and to hurt people. But IMO having belief and faith is what gives.. well your belief power, no matter what the label. Me, I have a tendency to bounce between the labels, or I add them all together. Boy, I regret anyone ever hearing that entrance to my prayers :)

Well, I feel it is human nature to classify and label. I only find it a problem when those labels hinder people from really seeing something - like if you assume someone is a nasty person because someone told you they were, so you don't get to know the truth about what happened or what they're really like.
