My life has become nothing but turmoil and upheaval. I am trying to get my footing and more control and am hoping that a chart reading may help. Folks I thought I could count on have abandoned me and finances are relatively nonexistent. Would anyone consider helping me please?

Would anyone consider helping me please?Hi, Prizm - if you post your birth details here I'd be happy to have a look, and I'm sure others would too. We need to know:
Date of birth (please spell out the month instead of using a number)
Time of birth (don't forget to say whether am or pm)
Place of birth - if it's a tiny town, say what the nearest city is too

Ouch! You've had some pretty big transits the last couple of years. Pluto, a planet associated with deep and not always pleasant change, has been transiting your Mars. This transit took up most of 2004 - it's not necessarily a difficult transit, and can give you lots of energy and the will to change the world. However, your Mars is opposite Jupiter in Gemini - and this combination can give you a tendency to overstretch yourself and be a bit self-indulgent and perhaps commit to projects or a budget that you couldn't actually meet. Pluto crossing that Mars brings lots of chickens home to roost - and Pluto and Mars both rule Scorpio, which is where you eighth house is. The 8th is to do with other peoples' money - as well as sex and power - and you mentioned people you could count on abandoning you - so are your finances bad because you had been assuming that someone else would honour a deal or come up with finances that didn't materialise?
The other transit you had last year was Uranus transiting your Mercury. Now, Mercury is the ruler of your 7th house (other people), and Uranus can be immensely disruptive, or exciting - sounds more like disruptive in your case. Your Mercury is pretty well placed, but Uranus is something of a problem planet for you - squaring your Venus; Uranus can be a constant theme in your life of feeling that you're being restricted, that your desires aren't being met, or when they are met they get shaken up again too quickly. So whenever a Uranus transit hits, this theme is brought to the surface.
However, this year you'll have lots of Jupiter transits and Pluto trining your Pluto which looks much more promising if you've been able to learn the hard lessons that last year's Pluto transit brought. There's an old adage that you need to empty your pockets before you can fill them - it's easy to say, but not easy being in the empty pocket position, of course. However, that's what Pluto does - strips everything away to allow you to rebuild. This is a year to rebuild, and for finding out what your real strengths are.

Ok. First I want to thank you for doing this for me. I really appreciate it. Now, I know you knew exactly what you were saying, but this is my first experience with charts. I got some of what you said, but I'm relatively lost. "Pluto crossing that Mars brings lots of chickens home to roost" What? You're absolutely right about 2004. It was horrible, except that a portion of it contained the most fulfilling time of my life. Is there any way you can reiterate here in layman's terms? There are basically 3 things I'm trying to get understanding around: 1) if I will lose my home to foreclosure, 2) when/where (?) I will get ample income/employment, and 3) when my soulmate (2004 disruptive and exciting) will return to my life and stay. Was that in there anywhere? I don't mean to sound stupid, I'm just not familiar with astrology. I will have a lot of Jupiter transits? Sorry to be a burden.

Goodness, first of all, I want to say that I don't like doing predictions with astrology. Mostly because astrology shows treads, not absolutes.
Now, as far as your questions. As Fluff said, Uranus was transiting your Mercury. Mercury is the ruler of your 3rd, 4th, and 7th house, which would explain why that unpredicability is effecting your home. I don't "see" you loosing your house, but I can't say that you won't.
I'm assuming that the house issue is really focused around your finances. Your 2nd house, which rules things that you value, is empty but has a Taurus cusp, so aspects to your Venus will effect this area. There are no significant aspects to Venus right now, but there was Saturn squaring it last year. With that stiffling aspect being over, things should improve. Pluto is also coming into aspect with your MC, so I would say that you will probably be coming up to a change in career within the next few years.
I can see that relationships are important to you. I can't say that your soul mate will return, not just from your chart. It only gives how you view relationships and the interaction between two people depends on the two charts together and the decisions that they make within the relationship.
With your chart I can say that this is a good time to be persuing a relationship. You have Jupiter transiting through your 7th house. But it may be difficult for you to start a new relationship or get the romance back into the old one with Saturn entering your 5th. I would say that good things can happen, but you have to work for it.

Sorry, I was using some astrological jargon there instead of layman's terms - so I'll try to put it in context here.
Pluto is a planet to do with deep, and often painful, change. At the moment in the sky, Pluto is moving through the sign of Sagittarius, and he's towards the end of that sign. In you birthchart, you happen to have Mars at pretty much that same position - so "Pluto is crossing (or passing over) your Mars". Whenever Pluto passes over a planet in your birth chart, you'll feel it intensely - and Mars is to do with your drive, your basic needs, and survival. It's not surprising that with Pluto having gone over that Mars your whole core being felt threatened. However, at the same time, Pluto may be painful but he teaches you useful lessons. Those painful lessons often look positive in retrospect, just not at the time. This is what you may be recognising in saying that 2004 also was fulfilling.
To answer your specific questions, I don't think astrology is that fatalistic personally. Some astrologers would disagree, and indeed your specific questions would be considered perfectly good "horary" questions in one branch of astrology ("horary astrology" is where you ask a question and a chart is done for the moment the question bubbles up in your mind and can give very accurate answers; however, I know very little of this side of astrology).
With that caveat, I'd say: questions about your home are ruled by the planet Mercury in your chart (ruler of your "4th house", but don't worry about the jargon) and Venus (ruler of your 2nd as Valkie says). So to see the likely outcome, we look at any planets "transiting" (that means passing over, or making an interesting angle to Mercury or Venus in your birth chart) - as Valkie said, the nasty one to Venus is over now, and so is the nasty one to Mercury (that was Uranus passing over your Mercury). My guess is that the main disruption is over - which should be better news on the house front.
Jupiter tends to bring good luck, so those "Jupiter transits" I was talking about should help both on the income and romance front. This isn't to say that Jupiter will automatically bring you this, simply that he'll bring a little more optimism and put you in a better frame of mind to deal with these issues more positively.
As for when your soulmate will return and stay, I honestly don't know. What I'd be asking myself is what lessons did 2004 bring? I know you said it was, on the whole, "horrible" - but these horrible transits are there to teach us valuable lessons. If we learn those lessons, we can move on - if we don't we're doomed to repeat them. Did you simply feel at the mercy of external events in 2004, or did you learn a useful lesson about yourself, too? And if so, what? I'm not asking you to bare your soul on the forum by answering these questions to me or anyone else in this thread, but to ask yourself these questions. Things to consider are: does having a soulmate necessarily mean that they will live with you? What were the issues that caused the separation in the first place, and have they been addressed to the satisfaction of both you and this other person? What incentive is there for this other person to return? Is the belief that this person is your soulmate mutual? My guess is that 2004 was telling you that you need to put certain things in place in your life - and only you know whether you've actually done that or not.

Thank you both. That helped. It's very difficult to attempt to rebuild in the midst of turmoil. Knowing that the worst is about over is beneficial. Hopefully, from the sounds of it, my stint with lack of employment and no income whatsoever, may be about to pass; hopefully before foreclosure sets in - which is on the horizon. I learned a LOT of lessons in 2004 (about what I shouldn't do and what I do deserve in life). Although I WAS at the mercy of external events (most of which I had no control over), I'm in the process of trying to rebuild and you been helpful. Have either of you ever considered doing an basic astrology reading class here at MW? It would be lovely to know at least the basics. A stretch of knowledge would be beneficial.
