In Cranial/Sacral Therapy, the dural tube refers to the structure that encases the brain, spine, & nervous systems of the physical body. The flow of cerobral/spinal fluid through the dural tube is said to nourish the nervous system, and through that, all of the glands & other organs of the human body.

The Dural Tube

This exercise was developed as part of my series of Mental Yoga/Occult Exercises, but it is also a powerful technique to be used by people with back problems.

Focus your consciousness in the thalamus as you inhale, and expand the focus to include your entire brain on the exhale. Repeat this for about two minutes, and then very slowly work your way down the spine one vertibrae at a time with each breath. When you get down to the sacrum, expand & contract your consciousness throughout it with your breath for two minutes. Then work your way back up through the vertibra to the thalamus, and expand & contract your consciousness there for two more minutes.

This ought to take about one half hour, but when you have back problems, it will probably take much longer. What you will find, is that there are places where you find it most difficult to proceed to the next vertibrae. These will be your problem areas, and when you find one, just stay there breathing on that spot for a few extra minutes, before going on.

If you find that you have been on one spot for five minutes, and are still stuck there, you can make a bridge. Slide a finger under your back, and place it on the next vertibrae. Then you will be able to focus on that spot, and continue this exercise.

Remember where you needed to make a bridge. That vertibrae is severely out of alignment, and needs a chiropractor's attention. The muscles attached to it, most likely are also in a state of spasm, and should be attended to by a massage therapist. Stretching techniques should also be applied. The Dural Tube is an energy technique, but as with all means of Healing, it should be combined with various physical, and emotional healing techniques, as well as the Spiritual & Mental. Healing is Divine, and the Divine encompasses all Planes of existance, therefore to achieve Healing, we must employ all of the methods available.

Thanks. I've got scoliosis (don't know how to spell it though) and this might help a lot with the pain from playing violin for a long period of time.

At the very least, the Dural Tube will help you identify the problem areas. I also think it will initiate many healing processes through your entire body. For scoliosis, you should additionally be seeing a chiropractor, and doing some form of exercize therapy. Tai Chi & Hatha Yoga are excellent for that. Getting the muscles balanced, so that they won't be pulling your spine out of shape is essential, so watch your posture.

The Dural Tube is also a Kundalini exercise. By bringing the consciousness down to the Kanda, and then raising it up to the skull again, you create a complete circuit. As the subtle forces travel through this circuit, many of the higher functions will be gradually activated. I'm sure you won't mind getting well, and getting Illuminated at the same time... hehehe ;)

Honestly, chiropractors don't do anything for me except moniter how much my back is moving. They're basically there to say when I need a brace, or surgery.
I do Tai Chi once in a while, but I have no access to Hatha yoga classes (and I probably wouldn't do it right without an instructor). I watch my posture most of the time too...

I took a few days before replying, because I consider you an online patient, & want you to get the best treatment possible. My chiropractor & I have many shop-talk conversations about things like self-adjustments & the like. He says that the chiropractic schools are caving in to the Corporate system, so that chiropractic will be recognized by insurance companies. He says that he learned a lot about diagnosis for all kinds of diseases in school, but only was taught basic chiropractic techniques. In order to learn real chiropractic techniques, he had to go to many seminars to learn from old chiropractors.

He says that you need to shop around for a good chiropractor. Ask questions about postural integration. Most important, is to ask about their success rate in dealing with scoliosis. Additionally, I think you should ask about whether they employ Homeopathic remedies, NET, Cranial Sacral therapy, or also have a Massage Therapist working out of their office. The more holistic approaches they employ in their treatment, the better the chiropractor.

The Dural Tube exercise will assist you in many ways. It might even cure your condition entirely. However, at the very minimum, it will give you a working knowledge of what is going on with your back, so that you can think yourself into health. An X-Ray taken of my spine in 1976 showed that my 3rd lumbar was merely 1/3 of an inch high, when it is supposed to be one inch high. My recent X-Ray shows that it is now one inch high. That is supposed to be impossible for an adult. I was 25 when the first X-Ray was taken, and now I am 54.

So this is to inform you, that magick is real, and you can use it to cure real conditions in your body. I think this operates best when you employ a four-fold approach, encompassing everything from the Spiritual to the Mental to the Emotional, and finally to the Physical. What unpleasant condition could stand up to that, unless you really wanted to be ill?
