Now, I don't know if there is already a thread on this, but, what is everyone views on pre-set experiences. Things that will happen, no matter what. And when they do happen, it'll go a specific way?
I had that happen to me today. I caught a glimps of something, and it brought me back to a dream I had quite a while before, and everything happened exactly, going past Deja-vu into a precognitive dream.
How possible is this?
I appologize if my post seems a bit unintelligable.

I don't believe in fate or destiny as a pre-set frame for our lives. Life, like all nature, is fluid, always changing and reacting to outside forces. Pre-planning implies that someone or thing is doing the planning and my concept of Diety doesn't include this possibility.
I hope that naswered your question.

Not everything, just specific events. Like, You go to a friends house, something happens that you dreamt years earlier, and it keeps happeneing, like you caughta glimps of you future in that dream.

I agree that life is fluid. What I am trying to explain is like, Picture life like a lake, and as you are boating(or whatever) along you come to an island. And stepping onto that Island you realize that you saw it a long time before.

My understanding of fate is, this is how it will be, nothing you can do about it.
That doesn't mean fate can't change her mind.
Seeing time as a giant disc, or sphere(sp?), all things existing at once, only our place on the disk changes, I suppose things are destined in a way. This is because all time and all place exist "all the time" Yet you are not really stuck with a certian "fate", because the physical world is not tied to time, though it is effected by it.
Now the future is kinda like, in a very odd off the wall way kind of way, like adding numbers. (More like adding apples and oranges and getting a number of bananas.) If you add 1+2 you get 3, if you add this place, and this spot in time, you get this place and spot in time as a result. Picture both time and place as two spheres of light, they can rotate, turn, and both can exist at the same place at the same time. Seeing we never see one, with out the other, we don't know the "color" of either one, we only know the "color" of our reality. We tend to think that they are bound to each other in some fashion, when in reality our existance is just the product of two seperate things.
If you change you place on the physical, or on/in time, the effect will change, your fate will change.
So then then if the physical is changed, the "time place" is different and the outcome is different. (Seeing it's easier to control aspects of the physical world then it is to effect time.)
So, 2+2 will always be 4, and this place, at this time, will always be a specific out come. If you add two specific variables, you will always get the one specific result. You can change the variables though.
(For example, if you smoke or don't smoke, and for how long and when you smoke, may effect many things on the physical, such as your health, and even the time of your death.) The product of one situation, time and place, leads to another place and situation, which leads to another situation. Durring any time you are able to change place, you can choose the actions, and that will lead to a different result than if you had done some thing differnt.
Seeing into the future? Easy, it's there, it's just a mater of if we visit.
Hmm... I hope that made some sense.

I do not believe in pre-set events. But...
I do believe that certain things can be set & made real, for example when two persons dream up their "dream lover" -- that at that moment, they are making themselves "perfect" for eachother. This generally occuring as a natural phenomenon in more spiritual persons. In the same way, a dream or desire could be cast into stone by such a person.

Well said. When it happened it just kind of caught me off guard.
