I absolutely love Beltane, but I'm afraid of full on celebrating because of some of the outcomes (children) my friends have had. The people I spend most of my time with don't know my religion either so I suppose I might just celebrate in a more conventional way by being fat, happy, drunk, enjoying the company of good friends (and my boyfriend), and lighting lots of candles....just enjoying life.

I'm hoping to keep the worlds from destroying one another. :-) To do this, I'm going to let my lifeforce shine out as much as possible while not lending anyone milk or fire until the veils have closed. However, I *dew* plan to have many a pleasant morning with my wife, my lover, my heart and soul, a great way to shine that lifeforce!

Twins fires are better than one.
(especially for loving and fun)

My 3 friends and I are going to have a macaroni dinner with the kids and then do a ritual (that I still have to write..lol). I want to include flower reaths for our head and one of the "Beltaine" wine recipes I found Raven Grimassi's Beltane book. I painted flowers on glasses for us to use during the Wine and Cake part of our ceremony.. I figured they would be nice keep sakes (They are beer glasse, shaped like vases..so wine on Beltane, Flowers the rest of the time)

--IreHey, that's a good question. I could start by remembering which day is Beltane this year. The 1st, the 2nd, the 5th? I really need to buy a Pagan calendar, but I have no money! :)

Since my grass is about 73" tall, and I have 437.6 million dandelions popping up, I suppose I will celebrate Beltane with a Mowing and Dandelion Seed Planting Festival, unless it's raining. Again.

I really am ritual impaired.

Ritually challenged dear boy, ritually challenged. Must keep the terminology sufficiently PC.

I will be doing a simple solitary ritual with Freya as my special focus. I will also be making a special offering to Frigg to fulfill a promise I made a few weeks ago. If the weather holds out it should be a fun time to get outdoors and enjoy the wildflowers.

My only daughter and I went to a Celtic festival for Beltane. We had a great time, and both are immeasurably moved by the sound of the fife, drum and most of all the pipes...so it was a special experience and a wonderful sharing for us.

My life would be very painful if I scheduled my sexual encounters like that, but I guess it would be regular. :)

Well, thats a given it is Beltane, to not would be sacrilege, and blasphemy. Other than that it was mostly a fire centered kind of thing with large candles and something or the other to do with Beli. It came together better than I thought it would, though I must admit I can be a bit anal- retentive when it comes to those sort of things.

We originally had plans of havinf some friends up at my family's cabin and having every one jump through the fire and go do their thing behind the bushes or something. Alas it wasnt meant to be this year.

Instead I spent the day with my g/f and made incenses and oil.

I hadn't slept in a few days so I decided to take a nap for Beltane instead of doing something. I was supposed to wake up after an hour and a half, but my boyfriend forgot to wake me up...
I missed it. :wah:

I'm late getting to this thread but as usual Beltaine was a blast for us. It was impromptue as is often the case with our parties. The party began on Saturday eve with a load of friends we haven't seen for a while showing up. Much drink and food was consumed and games played. Everyone left late and I spent the rest of the night talking to another friend on yahoo watching him get steadly drunker. I set alight to lots of candles, he set alight to his sock, but thats another story :bigblue: . We saw the dawn together (lucky hes in the UK also makes that a lot easier :) ) then I went and slept a little. Sunday afternoon more people turned up and it was round two of drinking, eatting and generaly making merry. Another late one and finaly some quiet time for the Moth and I who consumated the festival in fine form then drifted off to blissful sleep. Monday was recovery time after consuming enough red wine to float in I was not quite with it that day :bigblue: .

All in all a blissfully fun time was had by everyone. :ringaroun :dancy: :boquet: :colorful: :huddle: :fprtyman2

I have to admit that I am a bit surprised by this thread.

Somebody previously mentioned a fire ceremony (I'll have to go back and touch their karma). This is a fire time for me as well. Being unconnected has it's drawbacks at this time of year I suppose.

What surprised most was the new names to the Druid forum. I welcome you and at a time like this it is most auspicious to meet new people.

The hawthorn is about to bloom, which is thesign we wait for, so our grove will celebrate this coming Saturday, May 14th. We'll be planting a sugar maple, leaping over and between fires in cauldrons, decorating trees with ribbons and offerings of tiny muslin sacks of birdseed... Domi

I had a simple Beltaine, an offering of flowers on my altar, meditating... That's about it for me. Call me a big yawn. Maybe someday I'll be lucky enough to go to some festival or other...
