Got some scary news from the Doctor

I got some scary news from the Doctor yesterday.

I have been having some health related issues lately. So they have been doing a lot of tests to try to figure out what is wrong. They as of yet have not found the cause but in the search they found something else.

I am quite worried but not at the freaking out point right now.

They found a hamangioma in the left orbit. (which was explained to me as a clustering of blood vessels behind my left eye.)

Well I went in to see a Neuro-Ophthalmologist yesterday and he showed me the MRI pics. You can clearly see a solid mass behind my left eye and it is pushing on my optical nerve.

So I am sure as you all can imagine I am quite concerned. The Doctor definitely says this is serious. He did say it is not time to freak out but that we will need to come up with a plan to fix it. I have to see several other doctors regarding this to determine what will be done.

One interesting thing is that my Doctor said he will be showing my case at the up coming neuro conference that is coming up soon. (I am actually very happy about this. My case being shown to lots and lots of doctors in the field that my problem is in I can only look at as a good thing.

If you all would keep me in your prayers for a little while I would much appreciate it.

Oh no, Sending energy your way. I am sure that things will be fine though! I have small blood clots in my eyes (im only 18 btw) and the doctor said its Normal---which is questionable to me..yeaa....but I guess that he knows more about it than me.. But anyhow, sending now~!~

I am sorry to hear that you have something similar. Evidently the bad part of what they think I have is that he said he needs to do more testing to see if mine is actually inside the tubing (I am not a Dr and the term he used is not coming to mind) and if it is then surgery is probably going to be necessary. If it is not they are hoping to get away from surgery as long as they can but from what he said it sounds like surgery for me is just a matter of time. The good part is that it might be years from now that I will need it.

I wish I knew more cause I am kind of freaking out but also am trying to keep it in perspective. I will survive as he said he is fairly sure it is not a cancerous mass.

When I asked the Dr for a worse case scenario he basically said surgery on that eye and if it is not a success I will lose sight in just that eye.

So I am concerned but I have faith that I am in good hands. Only time will finish this story.
