Spiritual things to do with mum.

Recently (meaning yesterday) my mother celebrated her birthday. I offered we could do anything together when she wanted, just for her to let me know. Her choice was to go out for a picnic and hike and also do something for better lack of a term pagany with myself. Ever since she found out I was pagan she's been very supportive of it, though now that she wants to get involved I'm not exactly sure what to do. Does anyone have any ideas of what we could do?

Just talk with her and share your beliefs and ideas. Let her read the books you do and then talk about them. Do some pagany crafts together, that sort of thing. Just spending time together will work wonders as she will start to understand more about what you're up to.

I do not have much to add to Rain's excellent advice. Depending on your path, maybe you could also tell her about Beltane, why this time of the year is special and if you celebrate it, talk about your own traditions/ways to celebrate. You could also bring some traditional Beltane dishes to the picnic, cooking with flowers or whatever is in season.

I also wanted to say that it is really nice it is to read about how supportive your mother is. So many pagans have major issues with their parents when it comes to their faith... so enjoy the picnic, have a wonderful time sharing your beliefs with her and a big yay! for supportive relatives!

I advicse going real slow (just to avoid her becoming overwhelmed). Rain is right, start working on some projects together. Do some gardening, make jewelry and cool things to wear. Get involved in creativity. I've recently decided that I wanted to make myself an herbal pillow just for the heck of it. You should do that together. :)

Oh and you might want to find a nice place for you guys to relax and read or make these crafts or talk about spiritual things. :)
