Hello all, I am a new member, and am wondering about being druid.
I constantly seek knowledge, and any info I can gather would be greatly appreciated. :hugz:

being druid is a lifestyle. it is a life long study. we can guide you but we can not tell you what it is. you ask three druids one question your likely to get nine different anwers. as one sage once told me.. it isnt that its a secret. there isnt a secret. its just a different experience for each person.
i can describe to you my walk. the way i wrote my own road through trial and error. but it would be an interesting stories and some tidbits may help you. however you must experience druid to be druid. experiencing druid is a part of my life. i hope to help guide you on your road. help you understand those esoteric things that the path throws at you. understanding the hidden languages innate in the nature around you. uncovering the mysteries of this earth that divinity in which concept you take it as brings you. it is at once a glorious walk and frustrating. exciting and sorrow. you will not trade it for anything in the world however.

I have been at this for more than 20 years. Vi is right it is personal. I didn't find the path, it found me. Learn as much as you can.
Having been rightly called a grey muzzle I tend to be curmudgeonly early in the day.
Dig into the history! Relish it, let it consume you. Try this site as well.

If you had said "old sage", Vi, I would have had to ground you to your room!

Wolfchild,
As a practicing Druid for nealy half my lifre now, the best advice I can give you is this...
Go take a walk in the woods...and listen. That'll get you started.
If you can afford it, purchase THorson's principals on Druidry, authored by Emma Restall-Orr

Greetings Wolfchild!
What a great post to wake up to! Unlike Dave I wake up so cheerful it's sickening.
Go to the forum portal where you will find a number of great articles and things to point you in the right direction. May I first suggest "Twig on Duidry"?
:T Don't say it Emrys. I KNOW what you are thinking!
Peace,
Twig

One advantage about learning Druidry and becoming such is all the many people and aspects to draw from in todays times, utilize whatever tools you may gain, check sources and follow your 'inner voice'.

There are many forms of Druidry and all are valid. Some call themselves philosophies, others religions, and a few say they are both. There is no wrong kind of Druidry except the Druidry that is wrong for you personally... So yes, explore, investigate, question, seek -- and walk the Land, for that is the true Druid's school. If after you have explored the great Orders such as ADF, OBOD, BDO, etc. to your fill you are curious about one of the most and least known Druid paths, try this site:
http://www.AvalonDruidOrder.org
There are other gems out there to be sure, and some of the wisest mentors are not members of any official group. This can all seem overwhelming at first, but just keep walking the Path... The mentors you need will find you when it is time.
Peace and blessings,
Morgaine
