View Full Version : Walking a Sacred path

I spoke with a friend this afternoon who studies Budhism and many other things and she came to remind me of walking a sacred path. So often at least in this area it feels like I am marred down with low level vibrational energies, the kind that seemd to cling to a person and drag them down. It has become a priority for me to try to learn how to approach life at a higher vibrational way. Understandably meditation, affirmations, and a certain opening of the heart are tools to do this. Yet I am unsure how to keep that sacred feeling throughout the day. To go to places that aren't spiritual and still be able to feel all of the connections.

So throughout that perhaps does anyone have any ways or suggestions to walk in a way that always acknowledgs the sacredness in all events? One way, and I expect all these will be at their roots simple, is to decide what feeds the spirit and what does not then doing something about the stuff that does not. There seems to be a lot of ties and webs that can catch people up. Television for example and the daily run of events. But from here I am going to leave this open and see if anyone can find anything to add and hopefully turn this into a discussion.

Start small, maybe. What if you took one everyday thing and maintained awareness of it being sacred? Washing the dishes or scrubbing the floor or eating. Make it a ritual. Not in the sense of "cast a circle, light candles" that most people think of for that word, but in the sense of "every movement is intentful and sacred and meaningful."

yeah I already do that, and make sure to keep your awareness is in the Now.

Love Life. Love the interconnectedness of the Weave.

Intend harmlessless, to self, to others. Be aware that there are things that would trap us and hold us back on the path - remember to clear these things. Always intend boundaries, that's the most important.

In my opinion, start off small and maybe build from there. For example, you can start to see that everything in this universe is connected with energy and this can somehow reinforce a person's belief in all life being sacred. Take notice of the smaller things; for example, a flower opening for the first time, an ant scurriling (sp?) along, a spider and its spider web, etc.. Repeat an affirmation everyday (for example, "I am One with nature","I am One with the Universe", etc.) and maybe meditate for a couple of seconds to reconnect yourself.

I like to focus on my connection to the things I am doing, eating and observing. It helps remind me I am a part of something bigger and that everything is sacred.

You've already got the recognition that everything is sacred. Every breath, every act, every stone. Now you just need the understanding. Actually knowing this to be true, rather than merely accepting it.

I also have a hard time believing that the asswipe who cut me off in traffic because he's talking on his cellphone is also a manifestation of the sacred, but he is. I didn't choose him to be. I can't make him not be. He Is.

wolf, thats a really good example right there about the guy on the cellphone. Its really really odd when you look at things like that.

Even those things we view as negative or bad or dark or chaotic (or positive or light or good or ordered) are part of the balance.

It's all Sacred.

youre looking at it incorrectly, imo. it is not just the thing which is sacred, it is your reaction and your acceptance of that reaction which is sacred. to simply feel religious all day is to deny the sacredness in feelings of ecstasy, guilt, pain, elation etc. ALL is full of love, not just love itself.
