also "And You And I" by Yes.

PS. "Angel" is a great song!

Well, I won't discuss the song that was special to my ex and I, still a bit too painful.

My "personal" song has long been "Hammer and a nail" by the Indigo Girls

Gotta get out of bed get a hammer and a nail
Learn how to use my hands, not just my head
I think myself into jail
Now I know a refuge never grows
From a chin in a hand in a thoughtful pose
Gotta tend the earth if you want a rose.

Lately, I've also been listening alot to the beautiful country ballad "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womak

(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along,
Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years have gone.)

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

Dance....I hope you dance.

Here's hoping that we all...dance.

October 17th, 2001, 09:47 PM
Well, I just discussed this with Eshallet and I may have to change my post in the Dream Person thread!!!!

ANYWAY, since HE doesn't think of ME when he hears a song I'll just post the songs I like to think of as our song (:p --directed @ Eshallet).

I knew I loved you before I met you--Savage Garden
Amazed--by Lonestar

My theme songs, yes I said songs. would be:

Meet Virginia--Train
Kiss Me Deadly--Lita Ford
Crazy Train--Ozzy
Bitch--Meridith damn, can't remember he last name, ya know the one "I'm a bitch, I'm a lover I'm an angle undercover when you hurt when you suffer...." That one. :)

*wanders over to harass Eshallet now*

October 17th, 2001, 10:11 PM
oh, if we're talking about 'theme' songs, then i would have to claim the remake of the old Grass Roots song "Live For Today" by 'the Lords of the New Church', or "Dreams and Desires" by the same band.

and was that Meredith Baxter? (does that sound right? hell, she's from right here in Portland too!)

October 18th, 2001, 04:02 AM
My husband and my song is Living on a prayer by Bon Jovi.
We also had I knew I loved you before I met you but I can never remember who did it, some boy band, and I'm pretty sure her name is Meridith Brooks.

October 19th, 2001, 02:38 AM
Our song would have to be 'Love Song' by the Cure...it's been a long distance relationship for a few years now...but not for long! Hopefully I'll be living with him by December...he's coming down here to see me next week...I can't wait! :D

October 19th, 2001, 01:33 PM
My theme songs.... ahhhh, what a good question.

At this stage in my life, these are my songs. Don't you people get upset, I'm not depressed.. just wandering.

"As My Guitar Lies Bleeding in My Arms" : Bon Jovi
---"Staring at the paper, I don't know what to write.
--- I'll have my last cigarette- well, turn out the lights,
--- Maybe tomorrow I'll feel a different way.
--- But here in my delusion, I don't know what to say."

"Goin' Where The Wind Blows" : Mr. Big
***"If I should stumble on my moment in time, how will I know?
*** If the story's written on my face, does it show?
*** Am I strong enough to walk on water?
*** Smart enough to come in out of the rain?
*** Or am I a fool, goin' where the wind blows?"

"These Days" : Bon Jovi
~~"Jimmy shoes busted both his legs trying to learn to fly.
~~ From a second story window, he just jumped, closed his eyes.
~~ His mama said he was crazy.
~~ He said, "Mama, I've got to try.
~~ Don't you know that all my heroes died.
~~ And I guess I'd rather die than fade away. "

And of course, the ever present line in the back of my head, driving me on to bigger and better things..
"As I dream about movies they won't make of me when I'm dead." from Bed Of Roses by yup.... Bon Jovi. :)

and of course, the line that someday will mean a helluvalot more to me... "I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all." from Wanted Dead or Alive. I was born to be a rockstar. :)

October 19th, 2001, 02:11 PM
I can't believe I forgot this one!!!

"Someday I'll Be Saterday Night". By.. whaddaya know! Bon Jovi!!
"It may not be tomorrow, baby, thats ok,
I ain't goin' down, gonna find a way.
Hey, man, I'm alive.
I'm taking each day and night at a time.
Yeah, I'm down, but I know I'll get by.
Hey, man, gotta live my life.
Like I ain't got nothin' but this roll of the dice.
I'm feelin' like a monday, but someday I'll be Saterday Night. " :)

I swear this song was written about me... Jon has a way of doin' that, doesn't he? He takes everyones worst emotions.. and puts them down on paper.... he's a genius.

P.S. Yup.. must agree... great line to that song.. or from Hey God, "Hey God, tell me what the hell is goin' on.. seems like all the good sh*it's gone.. it keeps on getting harder hanging on... Hey God.. there's nights ya know I wanna scream.. these days you're even harder to believe... I know how busy you must be, but Hey God.. do you ever think about me?"

Well My husband and I just got married a few months ago and we had a couple "our songs." We danced together to "Cico Buff" by Cocteau Twins for our main dance. (Regardless of the song's probable meaning.) Surprisingly, many people came up to us afterwards asking what the song we danced to was because it was "such a pretty song." Kinda made me proud for sticking to our choises rather than going with a typical pop song for the dance. I danced with my father to "You Are So Beautiful" sung by Joe Cocker. :bubbles: :heartthro :loveduv:

January 25th, 2002, 12:18 PM
My hubby's and my song is Thank You by Led Zep. And yes, we danced to that at our wedding- now that was tough!

Some of our others: Believe by Savatage, Lady by Styx and a song, Fading Sunset, he wrote for me.

For my kids- When You Wish Upon a Star, and Crazy Babies for my daughter.

For me, now that is a tough one- I have to think about that and get back to ya!

January 26th, 2002, 02:50 AM
I just re-read my post and I forgot a song......the song that I think best fits me & Eshallet, is Led Zep's song "Tangerine". Not only is it my favorite Led Zep tune, he actually agreed one day when we heard it, that it sounded like us. Especially the "I was her Lord; she was my Queen" part. :loveduv:

"Being Drunk's A Lot Like Loving You" by Kenny Chesney

I drank till I stumbled
I drank till I fell
When The drunk part was over it hurt me like hell now I know about drinkin'
So I know one things true bein drunk's a lot like lovin' you

Cause I loved till I stumbled
I loved till I fell
When the lovin' was over it hurt me like hell
I know what a taste of the wrong love
Can do being drunk's a lot like lovin you

And I've woke up some mornings a sworn off the drink
At that I've done reasonably well I think
But I haven't done well swearin' off you and me and that I've failed miserably

Well I've felt the hangover of lovin all night I've sat at the bar all alone
In a fight I've bottled up feelings and poured 'em out too
Being drunk's a lot like lovin' you

And I've woke up some mornings a sworn off the drink
At that I've done reasonably well I think
But I haven't done well swearin off you and me and that I've failed miserably

I've drank till I stumbled
I love till I fell
When the drunk part was over love hurt me like hell
Now I know about drinkin' so I know one things true being drunk's a lot like lovin' you!

Well I know what a taste of the wrong love can do but sometimes I still get drunk lovin you!

niether of us really have a song, and we don't have one together. there is a korn song, but of course i can't remember what it's called.. lol, that we used to hear constantly when we were 'talking' or whatever you wanna call it. bodies by drowning pool always reminds me of my husband b/c that's his kareoke song and he RAWKS it, and broken by seether reminds me of him because he loves it, he and my one year old bob their heads and sing it every day, and we have occasionally done that song together. skindred reminds me of my hubby because when it first came out and was all but unknown he liked it and i hated it. i was told by one of my exes there's a song that always reminds him of me.. can't remember the name of it, it's system of a down.. the one that says SHUT UP when i'm talkin to you..

November 28th, 2004, 02:51 PM
Well, we walked down the aisle to "Leather and Lace" by Stevie Nicks/Don Henley, but a few other *special* ones for us are:

"At Last" by Etta James
"Suite Pea" by System of a Down
"Patience" by Guns N Roses
"You Can't Always Get What You Want" by The Rolling Stones...this one is especially special even though it's not so romantic 'cause we rekindled our childhood friendship years later at a reception, and both of us thought we wanted something else (which wasn't each other at the start) - apparently we did get "what we need" in the end, we just couldn't see it at first! I'm so glad that I didn't get what I "thought" I wanted... :hearteyes

But the very best songs are the intimate ones he's written for me...I don't know if we will ever release any of them with our other music, because it's all SO personal...but that's what makes it great.

November 28th, 2004, 11:16 PM
Our song is "Amazed" by Lonestar. It was playing the first time we met and just kind of grew on us.

Personally, I have several songs depending on my mood. Most of the time lately it has been "Go Away" by Godsmack. Probably my all time favorite personal song is "Anything for My Baby" by KISS. It was the first song and the first time I heard them way back when and they have always been one of my favorite bands.

me and my ex never had a song when we were dating, but a casual walk down a street in Northbridge gave us No Doubt's Ex-Girlfriend, and I think of him every time i hear it. We're still good friends, which helps a lot. He's such a sweetie, kinda makes me regret dumping him. Oh well. *sigh*

August 5th, 2005, 02:33 PM
The song for me and my ex gf was I knew I loved you by savage garden but hten she cheated on me and I couldn't listen to that song without breaking down. Straange I ended getting back together with her not once but twice. I don't have one now. No one to share it with. *sniffs and runs out of the room with tears flying behind him*

August 5th, 2005, 03:11 PM
Our song is Cake's "Where Would I Be?"

Where would I be without your love?
Where would I be without your arms around me?

Obviously it's cooler with all the off-beat weirdness they do with it!

Happy Shrew
August 5th, 2005, 03:15 PM
Any song I'd claim as "our song" would be purely for sattirical reasons. You know, like anything by Barry Manilow, because you know he must love him some Manilow. ;)

If we ever wind up with a song, ten bucks says it'll be by AC/DC.

As for my own personal theme song, that would have to be Espaņa Va Bien by Ska-P. It has nothing to do with the lyrics (which are of an angry political/social bent) but rahter with how it sounds. It features banjo riffs and the can-can. No other song has ever come close to capturing my eclectic insanity the way this tune has.

August 6th, 2005, 11:37 PM
For my personal songs, I have found that They Might Be Giants can at any time become the soundtrack to my life. Also, my theme song is "Big Bottoms" from This is Spinal Tap... courtesy of a funny moment when my boyfriend and I realized I have a deliciously juicy booty. (Talk about bum-flaps, my girl's got 'em!)

As our love song, Daniel and I have "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds. For those of you who have never heard it, it goes like this:

I don't get many things right the first time
In fact, I am told that a lot
Now I know all the wrong turns, the stumbles and falls
Brought me here

And where was I before the day
That I first saw your lovely face?
Now I see it everyday
And I know

That I am
I am
I am
The luckiest

What if I'd been born fifty years before you
In a house on a street where you lived?
Maybe I'd be outside as you passed on your bike
Would I know?

And in a white sea of eyes
I see one pair that I recognize
And I know

That I am
I am
I am
The luckiest

I love you more than I have ever found a way to say to you

Next door there's an old man who lived to his nineties
And one day passed away in his sleep
And his wife; she stayed for a couple of days
And passed away

I'm sorry, I know that's a strange way to tell you that I know we belong
That I know

That I am
I am
I am
The luckiest

August 7th, 2005, 03:40 AM

The only time I had a song with a boyfriend was my first serious boyfriend in the late '80s. Our song was Faithfully. No one since has rated having a song! Maybe this new one will!

August 9th, 2005, 05:08 PM
Well..he's not exactly my loved one...like we're not together or anything. But our song is
