I don't know if this counts as a rule-break or anything, but this is a new topic for discussion.

Yesterday my little brother asked me why I had hair ... well, lets just say down there. I just said because i do, but hes 10, and puberty usually starts to occur around then. He is taught stuff in school, but all they teach you about is what is in your pants, and then you forget about it till the next year.

Anyhoo, do you think it would be a good or bad idea to talk to younger siblings about baby-making, and how would you go about it if you did.

PS. My dad says go ask your mother, and vice versa, so the only person he has to come to is me and his gym teacher, who is a woman, so there might be some uncomfortablity going on if he asks her ceretain questions.

Talk to your Mom about you getting to give him the information. Tell her that you thought since you are a guy and going through things and having gone through others that you think you can handle it and that it might be easier for him to talk to a guy. She may be willing to pass it on to you without feeling left out or hurt.

I agree with Yvonne. I talked to my sister about stuff like that..but she was already 14 at the time, and I was 25...so..it was a little differen't. And i told my mom that i talked to my sister about it too..exactly what I said, etc. Mom was okay with it. But in your case, since your brother is so young, and you are young too...i would definately talk to your mom or dad about it, and see if it is an OK topic for you to speak of with your brother. If they OK it, just remember to keep it simple. Listen to his questions....don't just lecture :)

As for the hair growth thing...i think it's ok if you just give a simple answer..like this..."Well..because I'm older. When You get older, like me, you have differen't changes in your body. What causes this, is called hormones. You've got them, and they just need time to start making your hair grow.".
