Ok, so heres the deal. I have to do a 10 page research paper for my Ancient Egypt class due next tuesday :(. I decided to do mine on the gods. So I figured that I would add in info about the gods in todays society (so I can be like "Haha! You didn't know about that did ya? I'm not just repeating what you told us!!":))
So I'd really appreciate it if people who worship or work with the Egyption pantheon please post your ideas about the gods and how you worship them(if its not too personal).
Thanks in advance.

I currently pray to the Netjeru (Kemetic or, as most call them Egyptian gods), but I don't do it in an organized way as of yet.
I actually think you might be best served by looking at both Tamaran Wicca (which I do not practice) and more Reconstructionist Kemetic paths. The House of Netjer (http://kemet.org) would be a great place to start. I'm currently posting on their forums, plus their main webpage has a veritable ton of information about the modern worship of Netjer.
Good luck!
Senebty! (Health to you!)

I'll PM mine to you if you like. I haven't got them at hand, and I'm too tired to ad lib. My path is solitary, so that might be another aspect you might like to consider, those who follow Kemetic religous belies but are not part of an organised group. Just a thought. Sounds fascinating, though.

I don't know if I'll get to finish this post before I have to leave for school, but if not I'll continue it when I get home!
I'm currently a Wiccan and enrolled in the Kemetic Orthodox beginner's course as well. We're nearing the end and I think I'm going to stay on afterwards. For more information on that, I think there's at least three threads in the Paths section that should have a lot of information - do a search for 'kemetic orthodox' or 'house of netjer'. I'd also recommend you go check out their forums - http://www.netjer.org/forums/ubbthreads.php?Cat=
They're really nice people and will be glad to help, I'm sure :) Oh, and they have no specific policy on practicing two religions at once, so long as you keep them seperate. Hence me staying Wiccan. I believe there's quite a few KO Wiccans, and also some who are into Hellenismos and Thelema.
I use the Kemetic spellings(vs. the Graeco-Roman ones) of the names, like a lot of people; Aset means Isis, Het-Hert is Hathor, Heru-sa-Aset is Horus the son of Aset, Heru'ur or Heru-Wer is Horus the Elder, Wesir or Asar is Osiris, Yinepu or Anpu is Anubis...That's all I can think of off the top of my head...the reasons I use those versions are:
1. They're closer to how the names would've actually been said in Egyptian(we can't know for sure because the Egyptians only wrote down consonants, but we can make educated guesses)
2. The Greeks and Romans attributed very different personalities to a lot of Netjer than their original counterparts. There was a discussion a few months ago about Aset vs. Isis and whether they're different goddesses or not, you can find that by doing a search for 'Aset' in this forum. I personally think they're different.
I need to go now, but when I get home I'll post more(if this isn't already enough ;) )!

Okay, back with more...I went and found the threads I was talking about:
House of Netjer/Kemetic Orthodoxy thread (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=59746)
Kemetic witchcraft thread (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=85797)
Egyptian Wicca thread (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=50338) (though that looks a bit long to read all of it ;) )
Aset vs. Isis thread (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=83798)
As for a little more on my own beliefs, I believe there is divinity(hereon out referred to as Netjer) everywhere in the universe, in everything and everyone. There's also divinity 'outside' of it in the form of dieties -- who, of course, can show up in our world in various forms if they want to as well. I believe that they're all part of a greater whole, but completely distinct in and of themselves. Aset is not Sekhmet is not Freya is not Athena. I also believe in spirits kind of like the Japanese kami that inhabit many many places in nature and elsewhere, ranging from tree spirits to servants of the Netjeru. I also believe in reincarnation.
Aside from that, the specifics are that the main Netjeru I work with are Aset, Nefertem, Set, and Nebt-Het. Set is a fairly new addition and Nebt-Het has been around for a long while but is very very quiet. Nefertem has been around about as long as Nebt-Het; and Aset's been around the longest, about a year now. I have a pretty good guess she's my Parent and the others are Beloveds(there should be more on that at the kemet.org site/HoN forums and the threads I linked too). I have a site dedicated to Nefertem that's in my sig, if you'd like to visit and read up some on him. For sites on the others I mentioned, try:

I hope I helped some, and if you have any questions feel free to ask them. :)

If I may ask, is this a SCHOOL class or a religious class?

Thank you all very much for the information. It will be very helpful.
Antoninus, It is for a school class. The entire title is: 'Art and archeaology of Ancient Egypt". The majority of the paper will be on the ancient beleifs and the archeology aspect, but I didn't want to just be repeating everything that he talked about so I though I would talk a little about current beleifs as well.

Sounds fascinating. I wish I'd had that subject when I was in school.
