You come up with it yourself. You simply choose the name that you feel best represents your true self, or a quality you'd like to bring into yourself. And it doesn't have to be permanent; you can choose a different one once you feel you've outgrown your current one.

My coven wouldn't accept a name I just made up for myself. They'll give me one at my dedication.

You go to www.undergroundmagicknetwork.org and become a member. lol.

Actually, you should just pick one yourself, after your solar year of researching names and occult history. :bundled:

I'll sell you one for $20. ;)

Seriously, depending upon your path, your name is given to you, you "make one up", or maybe it just comes to you like in a dream...if you dream of gold dragons in flight, perhaps that is your name: Golden dragonflight. *shrug*

Or...you could order one for $20. :p

Since I'm a solitary, I get to pick my own. My first name, which I still use, came from a comic book. I saw it, liked it and took it! My "middle name" I created by combining two existing names. My magical surname came to me one night riding home in the rain. My "secret, between me and the Gods name" is a star name. And the name I use online comes from Greek history/myth. If you haven't found the perfect name yet, use something almost perfect. It is perfectly okay to change it as you, yourself, change. And you will. Change, that is.

Choose one yourself, it may take a while. Or if you have a teacher you can ask him/her. I gave my students their magical names, but I made my own.

i have been thinking of this for some time. i have yet to come up with one that i really like but there is always the same one in the back of my head. it sums me up in the fullest and that name is "summer storm" i was born in the middle of a really bad typhoon in the phillieans and storms have always comfortted me (alththough now they kind of give me alittle pain cause of hte barometric pressure changes but that is another issue) basicly the reason this name has stuck out to me is because my life has been nothing but short stormy times in my life followed by the eye of peaceful (you know the time when the storm subsides and then gets real viloent) it is the history of my life and it is the best way to connect for me with the god and goddess. if that makes sence. i think that i will take it on as my magical name for now till i feel i need another.

Eh. You can make it up, or cobble together "meaninful" things and pretend it's a name, or meditate and do a tarot spread that spells something out, or possibly just get really high and wait for the voices to tell you.

(In other words, it's gonna be made up, either by you, or somebody else. Get crackin'!)

Hello. :)

Lovely to find the answer to a question that :just: crossed my mind last night! :) The one I chose for myself a couple years ago no longer fits, but I wasn't sure if it was a bit of 'bad karma' to change it...

Now I just have to find one more fitting. Work, work, work...*L*
