Keep in mind please that I am relatively new to Tarot, I have only been reading (mostly my own cards) for about two months but, how are you able to get an acurate reading on someone when all you have is their name to go on no real vibrations or anything like you would have if they were right there with you? It may be because I am new at this but, I have tried to read cards for a couple people who I have not been around for a long time and I find myself very confussed with the readings - I just don't FEEL the cards when I can't FEEL the person I am reading for, is this normal? Does it come with practice or is there something that I need to be doing that I am not?

I can't tell you how it (doing readings for people who aren't there) works, but for me it does. I know some people who can even read auras over the internet. I think you just focus in on the energies of that person and somehow you will connect to that thread that runs from you to them. It also depends on how you think of life/magick - for instance, IMHO, energy exists within and without all of us, we are all one - thus, for me, doing a reading for someone online is like reaching over and poking my arm. It's hard to explain but I hope that gives you something to think about.

I agree! Everything is connected, in a cosmic sense. Example: Doing readings here, I just focus on their user name, their birthsign, and their focus....and if you have named your location, it shows under your avatar....so I focus on all of that.....while shuffling. Then, the reading....I just go by instincts. :D
