Neb-Het is Nepthys in Egyptian. It's sometimes rendered as Nebet-Het.

Right, and after searching for a thread I knew was there but couldn't find, here's the morning prayer I wrote for Djehuty, one I found for Aset, and one I found for Sebek. And I suppose you can have the one I wrote for Bast as well while we're here, not that it's my best work, but eh, if it's inspiration you're after, it's better than nothing. And I haven't been inspired to write another one to replace it.

http://www.mysticwicks.com/showpost.php?p=1733560&postcount=8 -- That's the post where my prayers are. Now I'll post Bast's one below. I wrote it in a hurry, so if some of the words seem a bit off, I'm sorry. And I'm a fan of the word 'hail'.

Hail to the morning, You joyful feline,
Hail to the morning, Lady of dance
The dawn hails a new beginning
The world wakes from it's nightly slumber
Hail to Thee, joyful Goddess,
She who dances the night away,
The morning awaits Your joyful song,
Come into the world, Great Lady!
The world awaits Your joyful song,
Come into the world, Beautiful Bast!

There, short and sweet. It's not as poetic as Djehuty's. At some point I may come to like it, but it's not my fave and I haven't had any inspiration to write another one, as I said before. May Djehuty bless you with inspiration!

I wouldn't recommend praying to Odin unless you are loyal to the Aesir. He's not to be trifled with.

Just an enquiry, why do you want all these prayers? I'm not trying to sound mean or anything, i'm just interested in why you're wanting to collect prayers to so many different deities from all these pantheons.

Look at the Carmina Gadelica (http://www.smo.uhi.ac.uk/gaidhlig/corpus/Carmina/) for prayers to Bridget.

Neb-Het (Is "Neb" a Kemetic Title? I've seen it used, such as "Neb Ptah", maybe her name is Het?)

It's actually closer to Nebet or Nebt; her name means "lady of the house" although I'm not sure which part is which. I think the 'neb' glyph(which, if I'm remembering right, is a different one) can be used as a title or praise or something.

Anyways, I'll see about finding prayers later. ;) You've got quite a list there!

*digs out hieroglyph grammar book*

Neb means Lord or Master if it comes first in the phrase. (eg: nb abdw -- Lord of Abydos)

Neb also means all or everything when it comes second in the phrase and agrees with the first noun. (eg: offering formula: nb(t) nfr(t) w'b(t) 'nkh ntr -- everything good and pure on which a God lives)

Nebet is feminine for lord, the -t ending, hence, Lady. Neb, Lord; Nebet, Lady

hwt is enclosure or foundation (by extension, house).
(eg: hwt-ntr is Temple, the Gods house)

Hence, Nebet-het is Lady of the House.

Bear with me, I'm still getting my head around the grammar, but I'm pretty sure I'm right. I thought I'd space them out for ease of comprehension. Kemetic grammar is complicated. OK, i probably got a little detailed there, but I wanted to add some examples to the first two.

Hope I helped somewhat.

Well, I have been researching Gods, from many pantheons for a LONG time, and all those I mentioned, I am interested in. I figure that all these prayers would inspire me to write my own, as well as get a look at how many people view their Gods. :floating:

Kindling The Fire

This morning, as I kindle the flame upon my hearth, I pray that the flame of Brighid may burn in my soul, and the souls of all I meet today.
I pray that no envy and malice, no hatred or fear, may smother the flame.
I pray that indifference and apathy, contempt and pride, may not pour like cold water on the flame.
Instead, may the spark of Brighid light the love in my soul, that it may burn brightly through the day.
And may I warm those that are lonely, whose hearts are cold and lifeless, so that all may know the comfort of Brighid's love.

Covering The Fire

Brighid, preserve the fire, as You preserve us all.
Brighid, may its warmth remain in our midst, as You are always among us.
Brighid, may it rise to life in the morning, as You raise us to life.

That's cool. I figured it was probaly something like that. Just my curious little mind, that's all. :) Have fun with them, the prayers, I mean. Nice to see someone else interested in Sebek. I do feel He gets a bit neglected sometimes. If you have any questions about Him, feel free to ask, there's not a lot of detailed stuff out there (believe me, I've looked).
