Another video game rant.

I rant about this a lot, but video games just irk me so much.

I never really play video games, but I've gotten addicted to Warcraft. We started a new version called Tower Defense and all of us sucked at it at first. Well, I figured out a strategy and all of a sudden I started kicken butt. Well, I'm suppose to be the "girl who never plays video games" so this pissed off the "guy who plays video games" and, despite being on my team, he started to attack me. He nearly killed me.... we were on the same team.... needless to say we lost.... because of jealousy. And now he wonders why I can't drop it. Well duh! You attacked me! Who cares if you are or aren't the best at it!!!

It's just a game, but honestly, that's betrail. I just wanted to play a game and have fun, but no. Argh! I swear! I should lay off the video games. I'm so irked.

Many of my past rants have to do with being ignored while everyone else plays video games... but now it's how crappy they are once you actually start to play... :geez:

Just one of the reasons I dont play video games :) I also wont play the board game Risk. You should see the guys in this house when it is being played, they're so horrible to each other, and it ends up in a screaming match- and they're the most placid group of people, usually :lol:
A little friendly competition can be fun, he should lighten up a little :)

Tower defense is totally great! I love building up all those towers and watching all those ogres and things get blown to pieces. Anyway, I'm sorry that your friend is a jerk!

There are whole message boards on the internet filled with imature little boys who do not realize that women can play games or even exist outside of their porn filled fantasies. A friend of mine is one of them and tells me the most boring and ridiculous internet gaming stories (because he does not live a life outside of the internet) about internet friends of his pretending to be girls and insulting the hell out of possible female players. Why? Because they are female. It's ridiclous.

I have almost given up on any online game beacuse of childish immaturity. I play a game to have fun, not act like a two year old.

Perosnally, a girl being able to beat me at my favorite game... is a good thing :p

and, I assume this is Warcraft 3? If you want I can tell you a strategy for playing the Undead in normal games where you will NEVER lose, and I do mean NEVER. I am undefeated using the Undead. (I've played games with other people teaming up on me, multiple vomputer opponents set to the hardest difficulty, and a mix of the two... I don't lose with them :p)

Simple fact is, the vast majority of developers are guys, and there's gonna be things in the games that guys like - Violence, Super Powers, and half-naked women lol

ughhh i HATE video games.. example A..my fiance and his best friend sitting in MY room right now playing the Doom 3. Its so freaking annoying.. also when im trying to go to bed at night all i hear are these little annoying noises *grrr* also not to get on a bad subject but I think video games make you lazy lol.. his parents let him play whenever he wanted to..and now he thinks I will to... I dont think so mister!!! lol ALSO its like he cares more about the video game then me..tonight I tried to show him the maternity clothes I bought and he wouldnt even look at me kept saying "oh okay thats nice" NOT looking at me..the least he could do was look..grr.. dont get me started on this subject... if I could get away with it.. Woot I love video games! I'm a complete and utter gaming girl.
However...I can understand your problem entirely. It's because you're female. A lot of men (although definently not all) have gotten in stuck in their brains that women will suck at video games and if they're beaten by a women it is the ultimate insult to them. For the sake of their pride we should lose! :eyebrow:

Anywho, back in the day when I played Quake (yes, the original!) online I learned that I had to use a non-gender specific name. Otherwise if people realized I was female they'd bash me in chat and hunt me down specifically to make sure they didn't lose against me, or at worst I'd get booted from the server. Then I changed my name to something either guy-like or uni-sex and it all stopped and I just kicked their asses without being utterly hated for it or being kicked off their server for it. _whistle_

Why doesn't Tetris count? It is one of the most well known games in the world, but since you made the challenge, I'll leave it out......

Columns, Flight Sim, Grand Turismo, Sega Bass Fishing, Donkey Konga, Monkeyball, Marble Madness, Crazy Taxi, Minesweeper, Solitair, Pure Pinball, Theme park, Railroad Tycoon, Championship manager, Pong, Breakout and pushover. There are more (obviously) but I think I've effectivly proved my point. :boing:

There are actually quite a lot of women in development. It's more that when publishers look at the market, they generally decide that the people most likely to buy games are male's between 12 and 25 years old (I forget what the precise age range is). So they tend to target their games at that specific audience, and developers have to go along because they usualy rely on the publisher for funding.

I must have been considered an odd girl and nobody told me because I've been playing videogames since I was 4. I'm now 18 and still don't mind playing a few rounds.

Oooh, you like the good stuff (except for Disney, I never was a great fan of Disney.) FFX was the first Final Fantasy game I played and I love it. I'm upset I'm done with the game, but I heard the second one was crap. But I never spent my money on it b/c the Sims were my saviours! lol I heard FF 7 was the best.

Sonic...I love the Sega version.

I enjoy a good game of online Starcraft, but like others said, people suck and don't know how to behave.
