advice needed

I was hoping I could get some advice from all of you.

I am thinking of starting a Pagan group on on campus. We have many religious organizations here on campus, however, there is a noticable lack of Pagan groups. I would like to see this problem remedied. However I am worried about the consequences of starting such a group. I do not know if it would be wise for me to out myself so publically to such a large number of people. (we have 30, 000 enrolled students, and two campuses) Such thoughts lead me to believe that I may not be suited for a leadership role at this time.
I would, however, still very much like to see the addition of a Pagan group on campus, so if anyone has any advice, or an opinion (for or against the idea), I'd love to hear it! :)

I think you should post it! a pagan group... you might be surprised who comes out... perhaps there are a few ppl that are gathering and would love to "come out" :)....

Do you know of any other Pagans on the campus? maybe they could help you get things started!

Mystique: I just transfered, so I do not know many members of the faculty yet. Same goes for the adminstration. I was planning on going to talk to the associated students organization, since they over see all clubs and groups on campus, to see if they can offer any suggestions. I have also considered going around to near by Pagan shops and seeing if they would sponser such a group.

Xander: That's one of the reasons I was considering forming a group. I have a feeling that there is a decent population of Pagan students at this school who would love to have their voices heard!

Starlight: Right now I only know of one other student, but I have heard that many Pagans here who participate in groups at near by colleges. The area is also fairly Pagan friendly. (many shops, stores, and formal groups)
I know there has to be more than one of us!

Pehaps you could try asking one of the shop owners if they now of anyone else!

It's even a possibility that one of the store owners would let you run the group there after store hours!!!!!!!

I would go to the student whtever that over sees all the groups...then talk to administration....are there any relgiion classes at the college...the professor who teaches that may be able to steer you in the right direction....

I decided to try and form an informal discussion group, as a starting off point for a club. (I need members before I can do anything "real")
I'm currently in the process of finding out what space, if any, we can use to meet and to advertise the meetings.
We'll see how everything turns out. :)
