A combonation of the strength of our auras (my SO and myself) and good neighborhood has brought us a nice boon. :)
Despite the crappiness of my house, I've met some new neighbors. We have a will o'wisp and some local fae, which I find rather unusual in Jesusland, KS. I was about to go to sleep last night, when my SO noticed the will o'wisp in our backyard. I've never personally encountered a spirit and conciously knew it, so I was intrigued. I flopped over grumpily, but felt that it was a crux in my life... mundane life, or magick? I chose magick. So, I hopped up, threw on my clothes, and went out back.
It is said that will o'wisps are inherently evil, and like to lure humans into trouble. Ha! What a crock of sh*t. They're neutral, and they're carefree... the human itself wanders into trouble out of sheer stupidity. So, I tromped around to play with it. I couldn't see it, but for some reason, I psychically "heard" it chirp... it sounded like a high-pitched chirp that was at the edge of my senses. It knew I couldn't see energy very well, so it fooled around by zipping all over the yard while I lumbered about like a moron, heheh. But here's the neat part... we live by an air force base, and we get a lot of planes flying close overhead 24-7. Everytime a plane passed overhead, the will o'wisp would physically blink at the plane's raucous sound, the EM disturbance, and the blinking lights... I mean, it would come into the physical and BLINK. It was so cute! n_n
After a while, my SO came out to help me chase it around, and we started having a serious talk... some fae hopped into the corner of the yard to watch us. They were of the unseelie variety, but they weren't there to cause problems, just to listen. I've never met a fae... I heard one of them laugh, it sounded like a laugh from a very small child, which was also at the very edge of my "hearing".
I had a lot of fun last night. I lost some sleep, but I took a 2 hour nap at work after a test we had (we're allowed to nap at work... badass).
